Post by GENNY on Sun Oct 11, 2009 8:12 pm

I missed the shootout against Ottawa and then I miss the shutout against Erie. I hope I don't miss any more. Happy Thanksgiving and see you at the rink. cheers

I was waiting for a bus when a truckload of GENERSLS fans pulled up and gave me a ride to the game. Thanks for the lift.
As far as the game went I didn't expect to see the GENS win it so easily. Goaltending has definetly improved and I think Ron Tugnutt has something to do with that. Keep winning like that and we'll do fine. cheers

Kingston didn't seem to have their legs today. But, our guys played much better, avoided little mistakes on defence, and were more creative on offence.

Thought the Padulo line looked good today and were rewarded with extra ice time and power play time in the third period. At times it looked like our big line (Hayes) had difficulty clearing their own end. Really warming to Jenner .. scorer's touch and high energy! They played a good team game today, checked well and cycled the puck with intensity.

that was one of the best team efforts that I can remember in a long time. It was nice to see the offense with some creativity and the defense being agressive and sound goaltending. I dont think Kingston played there best hockey, but hats off to our guys who played 60 minutes of team hockey.

Any word on Terreri and Clark? Neither of them stepped foot on the ice after their respective fights. Terreri definately didn't win his, and took some good shots, and Clark either had a draw or lost a split decision.

I know Emerson Clark left the box half way through his penalty, and was pointing at his fist on the way off.

Not sure about Terreri and Clark, but it's not unusual that the 4th line sees a very limited amount of ice time in any game.

I understand that Clark is a rookie and rookies have to work their way up but you'd think when the team is up by 5 goals, surely it would be safe to give the 4th line some ice time, especially in the last minutes when we know we have the game in the bag. Kingston's 4th line got some shifts and they were losing.

My opinion, whether it's worth anything or not.

Any word on Terreri and Clark?

Terreri came back by the 3rd. Saw him take a face off for Jenner in the home end.
Clark doesn't seem to back offen after a fight.

Kingston @ Oshawa Oct 12th

Post by Popbottle on Tue Oct 13, 2009 11:12 am

I saw Clark in the hall of the arena in the intermission after his fight and I heard him tell someone he had the flu.
I made a post earlier about the defense core and that I thought they were using only four of the defensemen too much and thus they were tired in the tired period, also a comment about the goalies.
I was at both Erie and Kingston games and was happy to see the defense paired up and six of them being rotated on a regular basis. I believe this, together with the Sador's work and the defensive work by the forwards helped the shutout and then only allowing 2 goals in the Kingston game.
Keep up the GREAT WORK!!!
I believe we have the talent as we continue to sort out our players and ice time.
