With that, the Gens definitely have a playoff team. I don't know for sure if they have quite enough to contend but I do think they could take a run at having home ice in the playoffs and maybe win a round or two and with some luck, a bit more.

gens have 25 players isn't the max we can hold 22? 23 if u have a 3rd goalie???

If so who do u think will be the 2 cuts

25 assuming Parhnam and Dehann return and Nagy doesn't

seems to be Dips' "m.o." He did it last year with Conway in the mix.

I doubt Cooper will stay around much longer. Zador is #1 and Bailie will back up as he was a first rounder last year and he must have something going for him to be selected that high. Size seems to be a big factor with goalies these days. I remember when goalies were often the smallest player on the team: now it's not unusual for them to be the biggest or, at least, tallest. Check out goalie sizes around the league; they're huge, for the most part and Cooper isn't. Keeping Cooper would be tantamount to admitting they made a mistake, an enormous one, with Bailie. I don't see that happening.

I think cooper will stick.... mainly cause its what we did last year under the same regime.....

negatives for keeping Cooper with the Gens

-Cooper gets little to no playing time, can't get better without playing time

positives

-Gens have a few weeks with 4 games in 7 days or 3 games in 3 nights this season, even if Cooper doesn't play he can sit on the bench.... i've heard its not the greatest thing for a goalie to sit in the cold all night and then play the next night, something with the muscles perhaps
-If there is an injury Cooper knows the team, system and defence
-If we trade a goalie at the deadline we have Cooper rdy
-3rd goalie allows zador and bailie to train while the players still have someone to shoot on, more flexibility
-give the kid a chance, give him some time, maybe u can trade him for a pick, nothing fancy but even a 10th is something

Since when did Parnham start playing goal?

Seems to me like this thread is now only about the goaltenders

Cooper will not be here as a 3rd goalie,I am surprised that he is still here.and maybe he is still here waiting for a trade but can't see him playing any games for the Gen's now as the season started,I'm sure he will be placed
with the Bowmanville Eagles.waiting there, he may be a packaged deal later on in the season with Parnham Wink

Why would anyone want him? He is basically an unproven commodity...no offence intended The only reason he was around two years ago was the Sellwood couldn't make a decision with out making a bad one. Now..back to Parnham... Do they move him now or at the trade deadline? Now, you get a player or two to begin developing immediately; later you might get more in the form of draft picks from a team wanting to make a run for it? Decisions, decisions, decisions!

He was levelled by Nathan Moon at a pre-season rookie tournament where he was trying out for the Ottawa Senators, I believe. He injured his shoulder (collarbone/clavicle or something up there).. an "upper body injury"! It was announced he would miss 6-8 weeks. That was two weeks ago, approximately.
