Which OHL team has the Best In Game Entertainment Package
Let's take an informal poll, to find out which OHL team has the best In-Game Entertainment.
It would be nice if you've actually visited some other rinks, to comment.
Take into account, Team Entrance, Hype video's, Crowd Participation, Music, and overall environment.
Be General or Specific.(pun intended).
And no sucking up to Hockeybeats, either. Be totally objective.

lol ... It's not all what the team does, the quality of the fans has a lot to do with how good an environment it is. For example, Brampton and Mississauga typically have such small crowds that the atmosphere sucks no matter what they do. It also depends on the target market. For example, I find a lot of the things that happen in Ottawa for the 67s to be really cheesy: three mascots, an annoying "Drop that puck" chant before each period, etc. However, that stuff works really well with kids and they have 9000+ seats to fill and have great attendance. Also, not to bash the OHL but Gatineau and Quebec City have an atmopshere that will blow any OHL rink right out of the water. The best game atmosphere I've ever seen was Crosby and the Oceanic playing in Gatineau and I was a late arrival - I missed two of the four assists that Crosby had ... in the first period! That was a special occasion but if any of you have a chance to watch a game in Gatineau, a five minute drive from Ottawa, it's a phenomenal experience. It should be mentioned that it's a phenomenal experience with no video board and missing a lot of the amenities of new rinks. They have the best mascot too who is way more involved in the game and constantly circulating the rink and playing with kids. OHL mascots tend to only appear during promotions at specific times and that includes the THREE mascots in Ottawa. Quebec City is also a special place to watch a game, same arena as the Nordiques played in. I saw Kitchener win the Memorial Cup there.
Sorry for going outside the scope of the thread by mentioning Quebec rinks but I did find them to have a much better atmosphere.

I prefer less is more. I find spotlights absolutely maddening -- I actually get motion sickness if they're moving during whistles when I'm trying to watch line changes, matchup, etc. Guelph is the worst for this -- thankfully, most OHL arenas don't do this (perhaps Windsor does as well?).
I enjoy the music in Oshawa -- more hockey oriented, rock music. Any place with a live organist adds a ton to the atmosphere for me. Too much club/pop music is a negative for me -- Peterborough and Guelph are examples of this.
Kitchener does a great job in everything except seat size and comfort! The music is fine, distractions are minimal, the video boards are good quality and show all replays (goals, penalties, saves, etc. for both teams). Niagara is another place with good game presentation -- free of distraction.
I enjoy Belleville as well, I like the arena and it's marketed very hockey-like.
I'd say the Gens are at the top of the list except for one not so little thing. Please, give us replays of more than just Gens goals!! I don't understand why visiting goals are not replayed as well as penalties. I don't recall a single time when I was not upset about a call and became so when I saw the replay, but there have been many times when I see the replay and am no longer upset because a different angle shows the call was right. As a result, I tend to complain about officiating a lot more when there are no replays -- please trust the fans and officials by showing the replays as most OHL rinks do!!
Great topic, I look forward to hearing the replies.
