Huge trade could go down - Windsor moving Rychel and Koekoek to Guleph for 1 player and picks

If this happens - It will be a long shot for London to win the OHL - thus an Eastern team being OHL champ is a long shot

Unless you think Barrie or Oshawa can be OHL champs beating Erie or Guelph or London in a 7 games

Our G M has tougher decisions than most of us thought 3 months ago

This trade is massive. Guelph already was a beast. It looks like a fight between Guelph and Erie this year. Kingston looked rock solid last night. The Generals are either contenders or pretenders. Barrie and Kingston come to our barn and win. This is the season, we need to get stronger up front and a big time puck moving defenceman as well.

Wow....not quite sure what game you watched last night? If that was Kingston"rock solid" than we are a lock to win the east my friend. we have 2 very good puck moving defencemen trust me. we are mising a centerman do to injury and quite honest it was a long bus ride to a few cities in 2 days.

For me, this makes me lean even more to cashing in our chips, sell our valuables and go for it next year while all these teams are in re-build mode. Sorry!

I agree that if Guelph ends up getting Koekkoek and Rychel without subtracting any key current players, they're without a doubt the team to beat in the west.. Erie a very close second. But with that being said, lets not sleep on London. They could still make a big trade as well. Plus the closer we get to the trade deadline the higher the price gets for "rentals".

If I'm the Generals, I'd still go for it, but.. I would not risk the future in any trades. I'd make a few minor moves and go from there. A run to the OHL final would be great for the city and good for the younger guys returning next season. Sure we lose out on a haul for Laughton, but if next season doesn't go as planned we can still cash in on a haul for Dal Colle, Brown & Cassels.

I wouldn't move Dal Colle ...ever. He is next years 'Jenner"! Cassels also too good {potentially) to move. You might move Laughton to London at the deadline. London's chatline folks think they need another sniper, therefore Laughton! If you got a talented "96er like Dvorak (we have room for an import!) as part of the trade, a solid defender (not sure they have one to give?) and 2-3 2nd's, the Gens could still make a run for it without Laughton.

Many of you forget the current ownership thought 2 years ago they would make a bid this year for the Memorial Cup - so don't hold your breath - my guess IT is Ottawa's bid to lose

If Kingston have such a GREAT team they should have beat us 6 - 1 not 2 - 1.

The team left the Saginaw barn after 11 p m on Sat - then 1 1/ 2 hrs to the border then arrive in London for a stop over after 2 A M then eat and drive another 4 hrs to get home.

Last night was some of the worst reffaring in a long time

The GENS DID A GREAT JOB LAST NIGHT

London has made some trades in the past BUT not with our current G M

Long bus ride....Alts can give up two goals....Dougie has yet to pull the trigger on anything yet in the Rogers Rental by the lake and MY Gens looked good putting it to the Fronts on November22nd. Don't worry. You have great chemistry on that team. If Guelph pulls the trigger, so be it. You have to be away from the Shwa to appreciate what a good bunch of guys you have there. Lots of negative things can happen to London, Erie and Guelph before the dust settles. Hello, Jaycro. Don't sell the farm yet. The decrepit, old, addled Croc.

Hearing that we are in on faksa from Kitchener . Good pick up. I agree with others about Kingston game. We were tired from long trip back. Kingston was rested.

No player should ever be untouchable. If we trade away young guys this season an start rebuilding next year, why not trade Dal Colle ? With the chance he's back for a 4th season it would make the asking price even higher. Obviously I'd never trade the kid if we where in a position to be contenders, but if where on the outside looking in, it only makes sense.

Basically I'm just saying If we go for it this year, an go for the rebuild next year, trading are biggest piece for a huge haul makes sense.

I also have another side note in regards to this possible Guelph/Windsor trade. It's been proposed that the trade would see Kerby Rychel & Slater Koekkoek going to Guelph for Brody Milne and picks. I find this some what fishy... That's nothing for two 1st round NHL picks. It would have to be 4 2nd round picks in my opinion for this trade to make any sense. Each of these players are worth two 2nd rounders. I have a feeling that there is some inside stuff going on here.

Since Windsor has no 1st rounder next year, I'm thinking Guelph is going to agree to select a player Windsor wants in the first round next season and then flip him to Windsor for one of the picks they deal there in part of this proposed deal. Just a thought that I've had.

If that happened Macker, Windsor would be in trouble again . The league has said no to those deals. Remember we sent Mitchell to windsor over the next summer in that wink wink deal. London is still a strong team and if they come out if west which they could then one of Oshawa, Barrie or Kingston is going from the east . There are a lot of possible upgrades for the generals from teams not going for it this year. It's just a matter of at what cost .

Nerfherder... thanks for the correction on Dvorak. I should not have assumed from his name and checked the London team roster closer . Frankfort Ill. is not Frankfort, Germany as I assumed, thus making an ass of me, or so the expression goes.

oshgens2k2, I definitely get that the league has cracked down on deals like the Mitchell deal a few years ago, but you do see them happen still in a smaller degree. There are still loop holes teams find and I just hope that isn't the case. It was just a thought though, an I doubt it happens, but Brody Milne and Picks for two 1st round NHL draft picks seemed fishy to me.

As for Dvorak, I've seen this kid play a few times, he's definitely a solid player and would be part of a nice return if we ended up trading Laughton. However I think London promised to not trade him if he chose the OHL over the NCAA, which is the case with a lot of kids that get swayed away from college to the OHL.

I also read on another fourm, that all 1st round picks have no trade clause's... I'm not sure if that's true or not. Can someone fill me in ?

Windsor trades Rychel and Ebert to Guelph for Guelph's 2nds for the next five years, a 3rd, a couple of 4ths, a conditional 15th and Milne as suggested in yesterday's rumour. What a haul! Imagine what Laughton and Suellentrop would bring!

Wow ! Huge Haul, maybe we should sell hahah. That's a steeeeep price for Rychel and Ebert. I guess this trade sets the tone for what to expect in the coming weeks for pairs like Gemel Smith or Zack Natisuk & Chris Bigras in Owen Sound, and Ryan Hartman & Ginaluca Curcurto in Plymouth. This will probably also raise the price on a guy that the Generals where targeting, Radek Faksa. Guelph really going for it this season.

Ryan Verbeek of the Spits has requested a trade and gone home. He is the brother of Hounds 2013 4th round pick Hayden Verbeek.

Windsor truly cleaning house.

Is slater keokkoek very far behind???

And with such a hual for that trade for rychel, what would laughton bring in..I can only imagine..

Is it even pheasable now to be able to compete with how powerful the west is becoming,it was brutal before but now its becoming a 3 headed monster....And unless london really loads up i dont see them defeating either erie or guelph now!!!

Which would mean you would have to win the OHL title to move on to the mem cup.

Is that possiable now,i know anything can happen in the playoffs and injuries do happen but are these teams just too deep in depth now!!!

Do the gens have enough to pick up a few players to compete after seeing what it cost for rychel, what now!!! ?
