Re: WHY so quiet around here
I believe some of the reason is when some posts are put up discussing areas where improvement could occur others are quick to shout "ridiculous" and be happy with first place. My thoughts imho is that this is a discussion board and opinions should be shared and discussed. Also we are all big fans of the Gens and junior hockey or we wouldn't be on this site. I'm a huge Gens fan and a big fan of most of the team members. When someone starts discussing the value of trading say Mitchel Vande Sompel I like to read all of the possible benefits and the risks and rationale and share my thoughts and opinions. I would not trade him at pretty well any price. But hey, that's me and I'm not the GM. Its fantastic that the team is in first place but that doesn't mean we have a team that will be successful past the second round of the playoffs.

Terrible weekend road trip. Period. Generals played better on Saturday versus the Greyhounds. But weaknesses with this team should be addressed. Size and depth. Forwards are too small and after the #1 line we have very little output. While other teams in the East get stronger why are the Generals doing nothing?? How can the GM be satisfied with this weekends games?? Clean the dust off your phone Twoohey and get this team some help

1st you need to clearly understand that you actually need some else to trade with!.......Now it is possible that each & every trade that has taken place so far our GM may have been involved we as fans would not know this would we? If you look at the GM's history which has been stated here before he is very calculated in his approach. See I get this overwhelming that some fans think we should win the cup this year based on the fact we have a good 1/2 season. each & every season is a marathon.
relax & enjoy the ride, trust me its full of up's & down's

Re: WHY so quiet around here
Gensrock the bottom line is the Generals need to add to the roster, they got completely outplayed this weekend. Physically they where just no match for Wolves. There's trading partners out there, Twoehy just doesn't wanna get fired yet again so he's scared to pull the trigger on anything. Look what Hooey went for last week.. You can't honestly say we couldn't of found something similar to what the bulls got for hooey to trade.

Re: WHY so quiet around here
The problem clearly is that we don't know of the discussions that go on. Based on the play this year if Oshawa traded almost any roster player with the exception of Hore and Dundas I could probably make a case for it not being a very good trade in the long run. This Oshawa team on a regular basis is rolling 4 lines and to trade a Harding, Wallace, Manchurek, McDade or a Busch could really have the team take a step back next year. These young players are playing SO well that they're making a case for Oshawa not to move them. It's hard to believe that we have 2 16 year olds on this roster that are key components to this team. The only thing I'd be doing is trying to grab a couple OA's for draft picks. That's it... if I was the GM it would be very hard to trade one of those young forwards for a rental.

Re: WHY so quiet around here
KHE, I couldn't agree more. I to would be looking to acquire an OA for some late round picks, and an Import for some late round picks and maybe Hore. I think we need some slight upgrades an that's all.
Really think Ryan Van Stralen from Ottawa would be the cheap OA that we need. He's big, he can score, and he protects his teammates. He currently plays with 1st overall pick Travis Konecny & Colorado Avalanche pick Joseph Blandisi.
I think Nick Latta would be another OA target of mine, but he might be a bit more expensive.
