Can it get any worse

Some might say it was a close game - I am not 1 of them - how do u muster up only 18 shots in your biggest game of the year

Only 6 in the 2nd and only 3 in the 3 rd -have we thrown in the towel

The biggest things we are lacking - GOALTENDING - DISCIPLINE - DEFENSE AND SPECIAL TEAMS

That is a lot to ask in 24 hrs to prolong the series - many thought this would be a close playoff type series - NOT

How do you win 2 series 4 straight then lose the East finals in 4 - bet that has never been done before

I'm not gonna comment on the first part of your message because well for one your right & secondly I could go on an on about how I feel about the Generals play thus far.

What I will comment on is the Generals first two playoff series. Firstly Mississauga, other then Game 1 the Generals did not play well against the Steelheads. Had they played Niagara I think they would have been upset. If Mississuaga had one or two more offensive weapons they would have taken games undoubtedly. The generals relyed on their talent. They didn't win with systems, special teams or hard work.
Against Peterborough they feasted on a depleted lineup that had just gone through a tough 7 game series against a physical Kingston team. Since Peterborogh was arguably a one line team, after that 7 game series the Generals got lucky an where able to take them out. They got lucky avoiding Barrie in Round 2. Barrie was taken care of rather easily by North Bay, but i believe Barrie also could have taken out the Generals.
Now you get to North Bay, who went through two tough series, they play a defensive style system like Mississauga, but they have 4 or 5 guys who can really
Produce. They have big forwards who can really wear down a defense and their defense is big but mobile an can with stand the punishment from the bigger Generals forwards. North Bay is simply just not a good matchup for the Generals. Sure Jake Smith play arguably his best hockey ever isn't helping, nor is us playing our worst hockey all season. But while I hold out hope for the generals this series is over. If they happen to win tomorrow it will be over Friday. I don't see any team including Guelph or Erie beating this north bay team 4 straight. Come the finals north bay will at least take one or two off the west champion.

I agree in that the gens have only played well enough to win each game in the previous series , and for most of the second half of the season for that matter , this team , although talented , do not have a gritty leader that just refuses to lose , like Ian Fraser in 1990 or Marc Savard in 1997 .
With respect to this series , the gens have been frustrated by the trap that Butlers teams always play , our problem has NOT been goaltending as previously suggested , it's offence outside of the PWP , we have very little this series , for most of the last while for that matter , and it also hurting that NB are one of the least penalized teams in the league , and it shows in this series , the refs just don't call them very often against NB

So our PWP has essentially not been a factor .

In the end we are simply being out hustled all over the ice , NB playing with a lot of confidence and energy, our guys are not doing so consistently throughout the game , in spurts , that's about it , bad habits ?

In the end NB is a better team , with a more experienced coach ( I thought Butler should have been coach of the year ) NB really came on strong and improved all year , we did not .

Oh well , it was a good year just the same , just not a great year .

I was more disappointed last season than this years team. This years team I was not expecting the things they accomplished, 1st place for most of the season and not just in the playoffs in the 3rd round at that, not throwing in the towel yet but it's raised  

I am disappointed they are losing but I am not disappointed in the team. They are a bunch of kids who have played well most of the year. They have run into a team that plays a system designed to frustrate their strengths. NB has been coached all year to play this way. It is very hard to change how a team plays in a few days.

The Gens want to win. They are trying. Their flaws are being exposed by team led by a strong and experienced coach. They have the horses to play the way they are.

Laughton being out for the first game hurt. Brown missing a game and half also hurt. The Gens have not got many bounces that is the way it is.

I think NB is making the Gens look bad as opposed to the Gens playing badly. Yes mistakes are being made but they are made because what has worked all year simply does not work against NB at this stage. The Gens have been unable to adapt.

I hope the Gens can extend the series and be back in Oshawa on Friday night.

all good points of view , its likely a combination of a lot of things , thats junior hockey , and thats why its so hard to make it all the way , so many variables
