Now I haven't heard this just assuming this may happen and would not be shocked if it does, and this would be another blow to the Gen's
As the Leafs signed Caryle to a 2 year contract and fired there assitances,I can see Steve spot moving up to be one of Randy's assitance, thus leaving a spot open in the Marlies and DJ Smith could problably fit into one of the rolls there, and remember I was half right in my april fools post  Laughing
the dission my not happen till the Marlies finish there season.

Not gonna happen. DJ just signed an extension, so he's under contract. I mean contracts don't nessicarily mean anything but to me I find this as a false rumor that's been blown out of proportion because of word of mouth. There is no validity to it.
I don't see the Marlies hiring an OHL coach with 2 years head coaching experience. If anything the Marlies will promote Steve Spotts assistants and DJ will be brought in as an assistant. The more consistent rumours from true insiders are suggesting Derek King and I forget the other Marlies assistants name will be move up to the Leafs along with an assistant of Carlyles choice. Vacancies will be the Mariles assistant spots. DJ might leave, but it won't be as a head coach with the Marlies.

If he does leave, don't be shocked to see Todd Gill behind the Generals bench. Also Trent Cull is a strong possibility, and an out of the box name would be Jason Fortier, he coached the OPJAHL Toronto Lakeshore Patriots to the RBC Cup, has been a consistent winner at that level and is in a similar mould to DJ Smith.

One thing I can say though is, if these rumours are true, hopefully the Marlies have contacted the Generals and made it known this is happening, DJ has committed to leaving and the Generals know they'll need to look for a new coach. As it puts the Generals at a distinct disadvantage if they need to wait til the Marlies season is over, that could be over in a month. A new coach should be around for all the prospect cams an summer stuff the team does.

I'm sure DJ had in his contract a clause that if there is an position in a higher level he can go and the extended contract is null and void.

If so then congrats to DJ. But wow this is upsetting. We finally had what looked like a good GM and a good coaching staff. Moving in the right direction. Now it's all over and have to start fresh

Its kinda feeling like your on a boat, hit an iceburg, but you find out at least you are not on the Titanic....... Then its good news.

I would have liked to see the Coaching group stay together for at least one more run. Oh well.

Congrats to DJ on the appoinment.

Like I said not gonna happen. Vishal Hussian is not a legitimate insider, he may be the generals radio voice or whatever but that gives him no inside information. This rumour was fiction from the start. It only started because of DJ's connection with the Leafs organization. Trust me if DJ was heading to the Marlies, an Spott was moving up you'd hear rumours galore from sportsnet, TSN and other official insiders.

I would have made it before, remember I said not gonna happen as soon as I read the post. Look at his other tweets, he's no insider, he's a hockey fan like the rest of us. This is how false rumours get started, people with know real inside information tweet things or post things an others say hey that makes sense an it gains traction amongst fans, despite being completely false.
People say where there's smoke there's fire, sure when it comes from a reputable source.

Keep in mind I put the Paul McFarland rumours out there last week before anyone else and they where correct, I don't consider myself an insider. People need to realize any regular person can have a twitter an tweet rumours.

I merely put up my twitter handle as numerous people on the forum have thanked me for my posts and enjoy them.
I never said I was an insider. I have other avenues where I write an post and figured since many have expressed interest in my work I'd give them the link to it.

Don't see how this compares in anyway to what I said before, nor does it have anything to do with topic that I wrote about. So instead of complaining over sour grapes why not contribute to the topic, rather then try to make
A smart ass remark.

For those of you on twitter @winstarparker has a link where he had a great interview with DJ. In the interview DJ did mention he had talks with pro teams. So I guess vishal Husain may have a little more knowledge than certain posters give him credit for.
