Happy or worried

Post by steamed on Sat Sep 27, 2014 1:03 pm

I'm Happy Very Happy  we got 3 out of 4 points, but kind of worried scratch  we didn't come out to play in the 1st period in both games, we could of been point less, I know we are missing two key players but I'm sure the Colts & Steelheads were too(not to sure about the Steelheads) we better correct this problem soon. But I'm pumped for the Gen's Home opener and what a present it would be if DC is on the same plane as JT when he arrives in Oshawa. Very Happy

What stands out the most to me that i've seen in these first two games is all the D men being a left handed shot. They really can't set up the pp properly when they have to make that longer more difficult pass. Josh Brown is the only righty. Hopefully that's it for the slow starts to games. Nice comebacks though. Almost a sell out for the home opener so it should be a good one. GO GENS!!

Barrie was missing Brendan Lemieux and Roy Radke of significance, Athanasiou, Dotchin & Ekblad won't be back.
Mississauga had their full lineup for last nights game.

great game last night for the home opener. Very impressed with the speed of the team ( bearing in Mind Sudbury played the night before and started running out of gas).

I was surprised to see Cliff Pu scratched. I saw him, Owen McD and I thing Riley Stillman walking upstairs just before the warm up.

Having said that, Anthony Circelli was very impressive. He created lots of chances and showed a real offenise flare. This kid is going to be a scorer in this league.

Michael Turner had great wheels and like to throw the body around until he smacked the back of his head off the boards.

Kenny Huether - lots of grit. A nick name came to mind, sounds bad but meant in a good way - Ken "The Rat" Huether. He too showed some very fast wheels.

And of course it was great to se Sam step to show the scoring prowess that some of us have spoken about.

I forgot to mention that Joe Manchurak looks a step faster this year. I see him taking a regular shift.

Also the lines were juggled last night. Nice to see lots of different folks on the PK and PP. Even Hunter Smith mentioned he was surprised to end up on the PK. The rookies took their turn as well and looked good.
