No surprise to those that have been watching him since training camp. This has been a great pick up!

Nice to see him get his first goal on Sunday.

How do players like this get overlooked in the draft?

Guys just take some time to develop, at 14,15,16,17 kids reach/realize their potential at different times. Sometimes kids are on the 3rd line on elite Minor Midget AAA teams an scouts are looking at other kids and with limited ice time you don't recognize them. Sometimes kids put on 10/15/20 pounds of muscle or grow 3/4 inches in a year. The OHL draft is such a crap shoot, sure there are the noticeable top 100/150 guys, but after that an undrafted kid could be just as good as a 7th/8th rounder, I mean after the first 5 rounds your looking mainly at future potential, rather then help us now and future potential. You see 6'6 kids who cant skate go in the 8th round, when teams feel if their skating catches up they'll be steals and many other situations like that. Kids 5'4 that scored 100 points in 50 games go late because of size. Its tons of things that go into it at the ohl draft.

Just a fast note from last nights game (Pete's Nov. 09). Just loved the goal that Anthony scored last night. Nice move on the goalie. Just would like to see a harder shot and a quicker release and he would be awesome.

StingRay from a scouts perspective that's the one thing that stands out, he lacks a quick release, and his shot is not heavy, its easy to read for a goaltender. But with that being said he's 17, and with added strength his shot will get harder, and as he develops the release will come around. He has all the unteachable skills, anything he needs work on are all aspects that can be developed with relative ease.

That's the point! Well stated Macker! I really like his compete and as you put the "unteachables". What struck me funny was how meek and well mannered he was at the meet and greet. He is not that big nor muscled quite yet, Really nice and quiet young man yet he is causing unbelievable trouble in the opponents end.
