Can the "insiders" list the injuries they know of?
Petchnig (sp) is out with a hand injury right?
What's vande somple out with? Eta back?
And also what happened to Smith? (Wasn't able to watch the game last night)

The team has been pretty hush hush about the injuries.Thought for sure Petschenig would be returning around now. Vande Sompel has an upper body injury, no clue what happened to cause that. As for Smith, Lizotte took a good run at him in the 1st last night. Obviously being the smaller player, he caught him pretty good in the chest region. Hunter went to the bench keeled over and after that im not sure what happened. The paramedics were looking after him and he eventually went to the hospital. Some guys on twitter who were sitting behind the Gens bench said he didn't look good.

Vande Sompel got hammered into the boards near the end of the second period of the Soo game and has not returned since. Petschenig has a finger injury and is aiming to play in Kitchener.

I was at the game last night and was sitting just above and to left behind bench. It was scary. Hunter skated over hunched over and once on the bench slumped down beside brodeur but then convulsed and he looked like he was going out. It was a scary moment. I think they gave him smelling salts to bring him to but heard after he went to hospital.

That hit was at least interference and should be looked at re suspension , no call

It was a scary sight last night with Hunter Smith, the hit was clearly interference by the dirtiest player on their team in Lizotte, how it was not called blows my mind. I was very disappointed in the way the paramedics acted last night, Smith collapsed on the bench and the paramedics casually grabbed the stretcher and casually walked over to Smith. Sure he ended up just passing out, but what if this was a case where it was his heart like Rich Peverly, it was disgusting they looked as if they were bothered to actually have to do something.

Of course Lizotte was wearing the fish bowl too. McCarron got a few good hits on him at least

Don't recognize the Gens players out of uniform but at least one was in the lobby with a hand cast last night.

That player was Mistele he will be back next weekend as will Van Sompel & Smith, Petching (sp) is also a possibility as per DJ

I saw Smith as I was leaving after last night's game. He looked to be moving around fine. I didn't get a chance to speak with him as he was helping an elderly fan leave the building.

Misetele, Smith are likely to be back Friday (sometime next weekend for sure), Vande Sompel says he's likely out another week. Smith could've played vs Missy he said but Hunt and DJ wanted him to play it safe, especially with the massive lead in the Eastern Conference. Mermis will be back Saturday (slew foot suspension, which was no where near a slew foot I may add)

As corny as this may seem, I follow Michael Dal Colle on Instagram and he posted a picture last night, it showed Mistele in a cast. Not sure if anyone else has seen him in a cast, but his left wrist was in the cast. Unless he gets that off in the next day or two I don't see him playing this weekend. It takes sometime to regain strength in your wrist after its been in a cast.

i agree saw him with the cast !

i dont know why the gens just don't bother to report their injuries with real return dates to their fans , i mean you can't hide that shit from other teams anyway ???

oh well the sooner everyone is back so they can learn to play together the better , damn good thing we had McCarron on the weekend .

The cast will probably be off this week and he'll be back within 7-10 days. I mean its still a good addition as he'll be around for 30 or so games plus playoffs, it's worth the wait for a guy like Mistele. But with that being said, I agree, the Generals could really be more upfront in regards to what's going on with their players.

Roger Hunt said Mistele could've played vs Mississauga (same with Hunter Smith) but no need to push it with such a cushion in the East

On the Petes Message Board Forum it was reported Hunter Smith broke his arm in three places. Tell me it's not true. Anyone?

A quick injury update, Petschenig has been ruled out of all 3 games this weekend. Robertson is available this weekend should he be needed.

Gotta love how they say Mistele, Vande Sompel and Smith could all have played Sunday but where held out for precautionary reasons, yet they don't play 5 days later in Kitchener.

Mistele I knew wouldn't play, he's in a cast, or was as of Monday, you can't just pick up a stick an get back into it four days later.

No one said that about Vande Sompel. And Hunter Smith ended up going back to the hospital yesterday for a 2nd opinion

What about Roger Hunt saying Mistele could of played last Sunday, yet he's still in a cast?

Also it was said on this forum that all injured players where possible if not probable for this weeks games.

My point is why do they have to lie to the fans, why not just say straight up Smith will be seeking a 2nd opinion, Mistele is still in a cast, Vande Sompel has an upper or lower body injury he'll be out another 7-10 but could be longer. Or Peteschenig is still dealing with ... not quite ready. Every other team releases injury updates for the fans.

Not surprising though the Generals front office and media people don't return emails or phone calls, why would they care to update fans. It's good fans care enough to ask around an post in a form like this.

I'm not calling out someone on the site for false info or anything of the sort, simply frustrated with the way the Generals do business.

Macker , I agree 100% , they only give a damn what the fans think , at season ticket renewal time , other than that they don't feel they need to bother with the fans , it's been like that a long time around here , but is much worse under Rocco 's ownership .

Not reporting injuries truthfully and keeping us abreast of what to expect our lineup to look like is not important to this management group , it's beneath them , like this stuff is really going to be kept a secret with online media today , it's insulting , we find out more about our team form other sites , I don't even bother with the gens team website , It's Old News !
Rocco doesn't care the fans in the premium section particularly are bombarded with constant very loud noise , all night long , except during the play , my complaints have fallen on deaf ears . When I say the music and constant advertising , selling shit , over the PA is painful , it is just that , it hurts , in my section , at least everyone , who visits me comments on it , 'man it's loud here'

And I'm paying a premium for this ? Wtf

Not supposed to walk down the stairs during the play , yet the sales staff , are constantly running up and down , that's ok , because they get to sell you shit , Rocco doesn't mind that !!!

Barrie is moving up fast , we are short staffed with veterans , the longer we have to play , with Huethers , Stillmans , Roberstsons , Templeteons , the sooner we will drop and Barrie will overtake us , let's face it , we are not the same team , with all these MINOR injuries .

Downplaying our guys injuries does nothing but frustrate the fans m call it like it is , so we can adjust our expectations of this team .
