Ryan Spooner
He would look good in a Gen's uniform
Here it is in the Peterbourgh Exzaminer:
Ryan Spooner has demanded a trade from the Peterborough Petes and will head home to Ottawa to await it, Petes' GM Dave Reid confirmed Monday.
Spooner made the request after sitting out the final 10 minutes of Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Niagara IceDogs

Its a good pick up only if he's back next year and not with the Bruins.

Re: Ryan Spooner
It's not often the Gen's and Petes trade with each other. I would think he won't be traded to another team in our division. Hard to say if the Petes will make the playoffs so the smart GM would not help a rival team that could beat them and lose valuable points in the standings. Then again, if an offer that can't be refused comes up, then anythings possible. Also good point on the fact that he may not be back in the OHL next year.

Re: Ryan Spooner
Does Peterborough still have 3 goalies? Maybe we could take Spooner and a goalie lol.

Re: Ryan Spooner
We don't want any of their goalies! Two so-so young'uns and a last year who's about the same as Zador. I would take Spooner in a flash, however, as would every other team in the league, but at what cost?

Re: Ryan Spooner
Sounds like Spooner is not the only Pete asking for a trade out of the peter patch!! A friend of mine in the Soo said the Soo lad who plays for the Petes wants out as well.

Re: Ryan Spooner
I'm hearing the players don't like the new staff. They made some strange moves with their OAs and goalies at the start of the year and it looks like the players have not bought in and are not very happy. Oh well LOL.

Re: Ryan Spooner
Ryan Spooner is a great young player and will not be headed our way or in the East
The Petes would demand a 1st line player (Jenner-type) + a couple of picks

Re: Ryan Spooner
Ya the only way you could get Spooner would be a three way involving Dehaan, thats the only way i see us not having to give up youth.
Dehaan -> contender
Spooner -> Oshawa
Picks -> Peterborough
That said if Dehaan goes I'd like to see a goalie of a younger d-man.
I think we are pretty set next year up front.
Thomas Lessio Jensen
Laughton Jenner Biggs
Paine Andreoff Labardo
Graves Sabourin Pettacio
Mcdowell Valentine
Quinn Hope
Sullentrop Zupancic
Zador Bailie
I don't think that Brown or Berger will be missed. Meaning I think we can replace one with Biggs and one with our import or first round pick or a trade.
Looking at it Spooner really wouldn't help the Gens. Our Focus needs to be on Defence and Goal.

If Ryan Spooner is from Ottawa what are the odds that he might end up there? Corey Cowick?

Ottawa says they want him, just not for what the petes are asking.

Re: Ryan Spooner
Archer_gens, Zupancic will not be on the Gens next year. He is a 7th defenceman as it is, this year. Biggs is not accomplishing much with the NTDP and only had 5 points the last time I looked. I don't think he's dressed for all their games, even. Probably wishes he were here! Other than those two, I like the looks of your line-up!

Re: Ryan Spooner
Correction! Biggs has three points in the USHL! Brent Norris leads his team, the Nepean Raiders of the Chl-Jr.A with 14 goals and 7 assists for 21 points. A small, but speedy centre!

Re: Ryan Spooner
Well I didn't spend much time working on lines so many biggs goes on the third or fourth line. The point is the forwards are quite set.
You are correct Zupancic shouldn't be on the defence next year, thus why i said we need to upgrade our defence and goaltending. If we made no trades at all he would end up being our 6th defencemen next year as of right now.
That said we could easily bump him with someone like brown from the fury.

Re: Ryan Spooner
Wow, that's surprising that Spooner stayed in our division. I agree, Kingston just got better for sure. Their problem is lack of scoring and they have adressed that now.
