The Gens played a fairly good game. The third period was a nail biter, as the Whalers were playing hard and at times out D was a little suspect. One questionable goal on Di Salvo, but overall playing much much better than our previous tandem.

Will be interesting to see what happens regarding possible suspensions for that two hander, and the second fight same stoppage to Jenner.

So with 3 in 3.....Which (if any) game does Bailie start? Di Salvo heading back to his old digs tmrw, so one may suspect he starts there, however Sunday is the 67's and I think you have to put your best goalie in on that one. I'm going to predict Bailie gets the start tmrw.

Hopefully the guys come out strong, as Barrie got shelled tonight they will be looking for a little confidence I'm sure.

It was mentioned last night on the video board that Bailie would get the start in Barrie on Saturday night.

The first period was boring. We certainly were not pumped to play in the first.

I must say, there needs to be more care taken of Thomas. There is no way he should be fighting. The last thing we need is for him to be out with a broken hand , due to fighting. That is unacceptable in my books. Our goalie was not pleased with it either. He was having fits at the other end. The Gens did a poor job in protecting him last night. Jenner cannot be protecting him either. That was Zupanic's moment. And again...he let me down.

But I was proud he manned up.....and didn't do too bad. But I don't want to see that again. He is not a fighter.

I found it quite interesting that when Thomas skated off at the Generals bench that Dips applauded him.
I agree he shouldn't be fighting and the others need to step up to protect him.

I think there easily could have been an instigator on that fight with Thomas. Dips was really upset with officials on that one.

Jenner cannot be fighting either. He was needed on the ice in the last minute of the game to take a face off and was not available. I think he gets 2 games for a second fight as well.

Losing Laughton and Jenner really will hurt.

The Gens powerplay that came with about 5 minutes to go in the 2nd...I was pleased to see it actually look like a powerplay. It was probably one of the best we've seen in a while.

While Di Salvo hasn't played enough minutes yet to officially be included in the league stats, he has numbers so far after 3 games with the Gens that would put him up there with the best in the league if the great play continues...his GAA is 2.30 and he's stopped 92.2% of the shots he's faced.

It doesn't seem right to ever be happy for a Petes win Very Happy but it was nice to see the 67's only get 1 point last night.

Five points back of Ottawa with two games in hand. It isn't unthinkable. Ottawa has a couple of games against Owen Sound in January and they have to play Mississauga and Windsor.

Sunday will be huge, one of those four-point games. Seven points back versus three points back is enormous. Hopefully they don't look past Barrie thinking about tomorrow and forget to come out in top form, Barrie will want to redeem themselves after yesterday.

Anyone else think there was no need to add 3 seconds to the clock on the last whistle in the 3rd? I didn't think the clock ran down at all, and with them not also adding 3 seconds to the Plymouth penalty, the Gens got hit twice with the Whalers player out of the box with 4-5 seconds still to go. Luckily it didn't make a difference in the end...but no one seemed to remember when they added those seconds at the end, that at the time of the penalty, the difference between the game clock and the penalty time was only 1 second.
