Laughton ranked 25th in early scouting reports

Congrats to Scott Laughton - International scouting rankings have put Scott at 25 Great building block for our future

well , haven't seen that kind or dev in him yet , perhaps , its a week draft year , but he needs to really pick up his play to be ranked as far as i'm concerned ! not showing me any creativity on offence . no doubt the kid has some sand , and i like that , but 25TH overall , i don't get that !!!!!

This early in the year - it's potential - he is a hard worker , good skater reads the play well

Now if Thomas was about to be drafted right now - wonder what # he might be as his play is not where it was

Thomas is fighting the NYC bug , h's getting lots of chances , tying too hard to pick the corners thus missing the net a lot, he'll start filling the net soon . Hopefully we don't have to give up any young player to get a solid D man , preferably one who can shoot from the point cuz right now we haven't got even one of those , and that is the biggest reason our PP hasn't been that effective , the opposition can collapse in on our forwards on the PP cuz there is no threat from the point , notice the coach has even tried Thomas on the point with his big shot , but that is a defensive liability . ..."..we need a D man that can carry and shoot the puck"........Murphy would look good in a gens uniform

Murphy would put is near the top BUT the price would be too high and we

would be outbid by London who has a stockpile of drafts unlike us

We don't have the players and picks that Kitchener would want

Laughton is good but the Gens are so deep that he isn't getting the opportunity or ice time that he might on a weaker team. If he was in his draft year at the time Tavares was traded, we'd be seeing a lot more from him. It's the downside of being on a good team. Being ranked though shows that he's still doing enough to get noticed.

It will be interesting to see how he progresses through the season, particularly if the Gens get hit with some injuries (knock on wood). Players like Laughton would have to step up for the Gens to be successful.

I really like the line of Laughton, Labardo and Graves last night in Peterborough.
These three worked hard on every shift.
