Injury updates

I was wondering if anyone has some injury updates on some of our injuried Gennies

Brown – Hand
Smith – Pneumonia
Appleby – Concussion
Vande Sompel – Concussion
Latour - ?? Maybe concussion or upper body. Judging by the hit he took
Manchurek - ??

Can anyone give any more information on the injury status of

Smith – Pneumonia Return date??
Appleby – Concussion
Vande Sompel – Concussion
Latour - ??? Injury/return date?

I'm assuming both Appleby and Vande Sompel are gone long term but obviously that's just speculation on my part. More interested in Hunter and Bradley.

Smith and Latour played last night.

I had heard Appleby was almost ready to return, however that was two weeks ago and was clearly false or wishful thinking.

Glad to hear some guys made it back into the line up!

Any word on why Matt Hore was scratched last night?

When did Appleby get concussed? I can't think of an instance where anything leading to a concussion had happened to him, unless it was in practice. Also considering the TV guys only refer to it as an "upper body injury" who came out and said concussion?

It did happened @ practice and this came from his billet who I know.

If I had to guess Matt was scratched cause of his zero points. I believe he is the only pointless General at this point.

He has come close a few times though. He at least puts on some good hussle and brings lots of energy to every shift. Good energy guy this year.

No arguement from me, that said if everyone is healthy, and scoring who else do you sit.

Its also a good coaching technique to sit someone who is slumping sometimes. They come back with a fire if they are a real player.

Very good point. Aiden Wallace is now getting some goals after sitting quite a while at the begining of the season.

Hore, in my opinion is a fringe player. He's a top player in provincial Jr. A and not quite good enough to be an everyday OHL player. He's improved all give him that, but he really doesn't bring much to the table. He's not a great skater, he has poor hands in almost every way, poor stick handler, passer and shooter. He finishes his checks and fore checks well, but so does Wallace, McDade, Busch an the rest of the team, his contributions to the team are the least of any current roster player so I can see why he's being healthy scratched. He was given the opportunity to play throughout the first 15 games an did nothing. When guys like Busch & Wallace came into the lineup they've contributed right away. It wouldn't shock me to see Hore dealt at some point this season.

Actually StingRay5, Aiden Wallace had a rib injury and that is why is was not playing at the beginning of the season.

Thank you very much for that tidbit. I wrongly assumed he was a healthy scratch at the start.

Kenny Is back he went with the team to Owen Sound and should be playing this weekend. I spoke to Mitch's billet and he's back. Mitch riding the bike at the arena .

Any mention of what happened to Hughes? He is not the best skater but is a very smart player and his presence in the lineup is felt...any news?

Finally the Gen's are getting healthy
Cole Cassels, and the rest of the injured Generals, including backup goalie Ken Appleby and rookie defenceman Mitchell Vande Sompel, are expected back for a three-game weekend coming up.

I just figured with the trip to the States that was it. I was thinking we played at home on the 6th next.

Guess I'm paying attention.
