Yes indeed folks it's that time of year again that we have all been waiting for it's summer time and the world's best award winning BBQ Ribbers will be rolling into Toronto for the charitable 2009 Rotary Ribfest's!

The 2nd annual Pickering Rotary Ribfest kicks off this Friday June 5th and runs all weekend long at the beautiful Pickering Esplanade located right beside the Pickering Town Centre. The 2008 Pickering Ribfest was awarded Pickering's Reader's Choice Award for Best Outdoor Event with over 30,000 in attendance and 2009 promises to be even more exciting. Delicious food, cool vendors, LIVE entertainment, circus for the kids, midway rides, beer & wine tents and lots lots more all in a fun & friendly outdoor family atmosphere.

After a very successful 1st year the 2nd annual Bowmanville Ribfest also kicks off the following weekend June 12th 13th & 14th @ the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex and of course our very own 8th annual Oshawa Ribfest will be held September 11th 12th & 13th.

Thanks to everyone from Gens Nation for always coming out and supporting the many important local community charities that the Rotary Club helps through it's summertime Toronto area Ribfest's. The hockey community can always be counted on for helping out community charities.

Admission to Pickering Ribfest is absolutely free, food donation appreciated, and admission to the Bowmanville Ribfest is by food donation thank you!

Wow what a fantastic job the Rotary club and the City of Pickering has done in setting up the Pickering Ribfest it's a beautiful setting right across from the Pickering Town Centre in the Pickering Esplanade.

C'mon out this weekend Gens Nation and have a great time lots of family fun heck bring grandma & grandpa too!! Gents if you have never been to Ribfest earn points with your wives and girlfriends the ladies absolutely love summer outdoor picnics in the park!!! All the delicious food and all the vendor shopping and LIVE entertainment the gals will love you for taking them out to the charitable Ribfest's!!!

I went at about 5:00 and was disappointed that the corn on the cob was not ready. The Boss Hog ribs were bland but the ribs from Silver Bullet were amazing. Hanc's fries are incredible and the lemonade was a nice refresher. Any one going should take note that the entrance is on the west side and not marked very well. We went to the east side first and had to walk all the way back around.

It was a fantastic turnout at Bowmanville Ribfest congrats Gens Nation and thanks Genny and to everyone in Durham Region for their support. Seen quite a few Gens jersey's in attendance very cool!

I hope everyone in Gens Nation can make it out to some of the other GTA Ribfest's over the summer i know all of the charities are very very appreciative thanks again have a great time.

The Toronto Ribfest draws over 100,000 supporters as do several of the other longer running GTA Ribfest's. Some people steamed actually get the spirit of the event which is raising money for many important local charities.

We had a great time at Ribfest! The food was fabulous and we spent (and ate) way too much. I am still recovering (repenting) from an overdose of ribs! We were there just after noon on Saturday and lineups were very reasonable. Bought extra rack or two to take home and had ribs next day too!
