Well two of the three can be attributed to Selwood.

Justin Shugg - Windsor - 8 pts - 11 th - 91 birth - 2 yrs left : RECEIVED A GREAT GOALIE IN RETURN.HAD HE NOT GOT HURT MAYBE THE GENS WOULD HAVE GAVE THE BULLS A RUN.

I HAVE A GREAT IDEA WE SHOULD NEVER TRADE ANY PLAYERS. IT SOUNDS LIKE THATS WHAT YOU GUYS WOULD PREFER.
YOU WIN SOME TRADES YOU LOSE SOME. WHERE WOULD THIS GENERALS TEAM BE IF WE DIDNT TRADE TAVARES AND DELZOTTO.
NOT SURE IF YOU PEOPLE COME ON HERE JUST TO BITCH AND NEVER REALLY WATCH HOCKEY.

Settle down
Trades are good if they are good trades
Carnovale - we gave up more to get him, and got less in trade
Sellwood gave Odell and Shugg away for nothing they were both
throw ins for rental players in VERY bad trades

Odell and shugg were not throw ins, in the seperate deals in which we got kevin baker and michael neuvirth in return, both by the way were both very sought after players. We were going for a championship and took a chance.Odell was not going to sign with the gens, so they have to get something in return.

To answer the question posed in the topic, it makes me feel as though our scouts did well. O'Dell and Shugg were drafted and look good. Carnevale and Thomas were also scouted before being agreed to in deals. Good job by whoever was responsible.

Keep in mind that O'Dell and Carnevale did NOT want to play for this team

get over blaming Sellwood for everything.. O'dell wasn't coming to Oshawa and Shugg was required to get a top notch goalie we thought we were getting.. Nobody ever complains about Sellwood acquiring Cal Clutterbuck for the Donati twins (who were not coming back) Bret Parnham from Sudbury, and Igor Gongalsky, only for the mistakes he did make..

My intention wasn't to blame Selwood, enough of that has been done already, and most everyone on here agrees that he was a weak GM and coach for the team. At the end, he made trades to save his job, not to make the team better.
I made that statement so that people would understand that the current management wasn't nessicarily responsible for 2 of the 3 players leaving the team, and while it was unfortunate to lose Shugg in a bad trade (in my opinion), it happened. Also, with O'Dell, it wasn't so much that he wasn't going to come here, he just wanted a better education package, so the owners should had opened up their pocket books, or Mr. Selwood should had convinced them to do so.

I would disagree with you on that one. When he made the trade to acquire Kevin Baker, Neuvirth and others his team was in or around first place, had just won a bunch of games with Tavares at the WJC, his team was hot, and everyone in the city thought they were going to the Memorial Cup. If he didn't make any moves people would have complained he didn't do enough to win. He did what most GM's on the cusp of winning do, he gambled. Unfortunately like most, he mortgaged the future and lost.

While it is true Brad made bad trades to save his BUTT
If anyone can recall , we needed much more to beat the BULLS
with Murphy in net
The player to get would have been a tough guy Simmonds
Brad's mistakes far outweigh his accomplishments
You notice he is still unemployed

I still felt that a) we gave up too much for Neuvirth (and Ryan Baldwin). b) I think we would had been ok with Jakub Kovar and Darryl Borden. On top of that, Borden and Kovar both had another year left in the league, instead of Neuvirth who knew he wasn't returning to the OHL the following year.
There were other trades to make that would had made more sense, and brought in better pieces to the puzzle.

please be realistic... we lost nothing in that trade for that year.. Neuvirth is twice the goalue Kovar would have ever of been. Borden stunk out the joint during his time here last year and in London, and Kovar never came back to the OHL after the season,, the killer in the trade was Dale Mitchell going to Windsor the next year. Oshawa was neck and neck with Belleville at the time, and nobody thought Belleville would have been that much better in the playoffs.(which was still close except for the last game) Don't give me this crap that Sellwood made tha trade to save him ass. He made the trade to make his team better and compete for a memorial cup... at the time of the trade his team was close to first in the east and no one could have predicited the downfall they would have made come Feb and March..

Well, if he wasn't doing it to save his job, he could have made trades that wouldn't had killed the team in the following years. He could had stuck it out with Kovar and Borden, who that year were playing well.
He could had made trades that kept the team a contender for two years in a row, instead, he knew he had to do something to impress the ownership. If he thought his job was safe, he would had gone the route of a two year contender, not a all-or-nothing one year deal.
