Sat night games
Are you in favour or not - am I the only 1 who doesn't like Sat night games
Also - I don't like back to back games
What a brutal week end - Travel north on Friday - play SUDBURY
arrive back in Oshawa after 4:00 A M - travel home hit the sheets
back in the arena time to prepare and play Missy Majors - 7:00 P M start
Play again at home Sunday night - Kingston
I don't like Sat games - more so followed by Sun games
Guess what our last 2 home games in March Sat - Kingston - Sun - Petes

Re: Sat night games
I know alot of people don't like them. But I wish they would go back to Sunday afternoon games. I enjoyed the game in the afternoon, then supper with the family and a relaxing Sunday evening.

Re: Sat night games
I agree Gens Camper, two games back to back (at home) is a little much. Three in three for a team is also a lot to expect of the players, especially with travel involved. We all know the OHL is primarily a "week-end league" but it can be demanding for fans and players alike. Yes, I know tournament teams play 3 or 4 or more games in two days but they are not always "stop time" except the last few minutes of periods or games. I don't mind Friday/Sunday games but the two in two for fans, no matter how keen we may be, is heavy, especially if you have kids' tickets! Like ogf, I also like the Sunday afternoon games.

Re: Sat night games
i don't mind back to back home games so long as they are few and far between..... all sorts of teams have 3 games in 3 nights.... better back to back games at home then on the road more rest
brutal weekend yes.... but it doesn't only happen to us
sat night games at home are bad cause they go up against hnic.... but again i'm not gonna complain as long as they are few and far between

Re: Sat night games
I am not a fan of back to back games. I think it hurts attendance to.
I am also not a fan of Sunday afternoon games on a regular basis. I like Sunday night.
I can do something else on Sunday and then go to the game and still be home by 9. Perfect in my world.
When my kids were playing hockey there were lots of Sunday afternoon games for them. I expect that continues.
The occasional weekend afternoon game is fine for kids who are young.

Re: Sat night games
I don't mind Sunday night games but the 6:05 start time is difficult. I'm always rushing the family to eat dinner early just so I can make the game on time.

Game times
I prefer the Friday night - Sunday night games
I also feel rushed to make the 6:05 start and would prefer 6:30 start
Last yr was our first Sat night game - this yr we have 3 and I know season ticket holders in my area will not be there Sat night
It's too bad - season ticket holders wre not given a survey of nights and start times

Re: Sat night games
I have no problem with Saturday night games. CBC forces us to watch the leafs lose every Saturday so I would rather be at a live Generals game anyway. What I don't like is following that with a Sunday game at 2:00. Sunday games should be @ 7:00. Some of you may have noticed that I am allways late for the Sunday games. It's impossible to get home after working in Toronto all day for 6:00. But by all means don't change your schedule just for little ol' me.

Re: Sat night games
Maybe I just got used to it with St. Mike's but I think afternoon games give you much more of a family atmosphere which is the OHL's main target market. I much prefer afternoon games whether Saturday or Sunday.
I also wish there were more Friday night games. It seems there were more a couple of years ago.

Re: Sat night games
Friday night games were great - at the end of the work week
you had something to look forward to and 7:30 start meant
a relaxing pace from work or school to dinner to game
I know it was the Petes but it was great last Friday and over 5,000
The atmosphere would not have been like that on Sat - 2:00 pm

Re: Sat night games
The only reason we are playing these saturday night games is the Leafs are not playing. There is no way the Gens would schedule a game against the Leafs. The last two years the Leafs haven't played every saturday night. I like the sunday nights at 6. I am home and it isn't too late. (especially when i take the little guy)

Re: Sat night games
forget any afternoon games , especially sunday afternoon , cuts too much into the weekend for those of us who like other winter activities , like skiing , cottage , etc , even rhe sunday at 6 starts are too early , i loved it when we had all games at 7 ;30 , had time to do an activity during the day , dinner with family then go to game , hard to please everybody i know , but if all the gens games were sunday afternoon , having a cottage i would have to drop out !

Re: Sat night games
I don't mind the Saturday night games at all.
The Friday night games are good too. I agree after a hard week of work...a very nice outlet to go and enjoy a good hockey game.
I cannot stand the Sunday 2 pm afternoon games. That is the worse time for a game. And unfortunately, this forces adults to bring kids who don't want to be at the game. That is not fun for the people who want to watch the game. And not fair to force a kid to stay somewhere , where they are completley bored out of their minds. Bad combo!
I love the Sunday night games. I personally would like to see them back at 7pm. That was perfect.

Re: Sat night games
I really like Sunday afternoon games and I also like the 6:05 start when it's a Sunday evening game. With a husband who gets out of bed at 3:45am on Monday mornings, I don't want later Sunday games!
