Make or Break time?

I seem to say that alot lately. Gens losing streak would hit 10 games with a loss tonight.

Never thought Niagara would catch us a few weeks ago, loss tonight puts the Bulls in striking distance. They will play us hard, especially since after tonight they could be 4 points out of the playoffs.

I'll add my name to the never thought it would happen list. That's a product of not only the Gens losing streak but underestimating the Ice Dogs. They've gone 4-1-1 over the last six games and the regulation loss is against Windsor. That's a great record for a sub. 500 team down the stretch and with the Generals losing all of their last six, that's a nine-point jump in the standings over a very short time period. Ouch.

Belleville is only 6 back - 2 games vs GENS

I wasn't at the game so i cannot opine to the degree that many of you will but here are some odds and ends.

during the pre-game show i heard tyler taylor refer to how much he learned about positional play while playing for burnett in belleville..........that set off a red flag for me. 220 OHL games. 38 as a bull.........

the guys on the post-game show have often (over the years) had a "difficult choice" coming up with the Gens hardest worker of the game.........it used to be because there were so many options.

last 2 times the bulls have come to town. 17 goals against. 8 in one 3rd period, 5 in one 2nd period.......................

Just back fro the GMC and I am still scratching my head wondering what I just saw. This team was disinterested, disorganized and completely lacking any system.

I truly think it is time to look further than the players and squarely at the coach. Even poor talent can put forth a better effort and play some type of system. It's probably too late but that might just be what the doctor ordered.

As I wrote earlier you are totally right time to take matters into our own hands. If a change isn't made I will not be there in the fall. Which is really too bad I have really grown to love this team but I will not act like a Leaf fan and pretend that things will get better

That's definitely the worst performance I've seen in the four years I've been watching the Generals. It wasn't injuries tonight or being a young team. It was just an awful performance and a complete lack of effort, nothing else really to say. This was to a whole other level than the previous games I thought.

Oh give me a break Gensfansec114. The Generals haven't won a Championship in 13 years. The leafs haven't won in 43 years. The leafs are multi millionares. The Generals are juniors not yet at the start of their adult lives. If you can't support the future, your seats will be much appreciated by someone who will. See Ya!

Leafs have not won in more then 40.
Gens have won both the league and the CHL in the last 20 years.

Yes some teams beat the odds and win more often then this, but u can't win every year.

I personally will be cheering for Loss's the rest of the year, as i don't want to pay to watch Barrie destroy us in the first round, plus I cover the 2nd/3rd over all pick more then getting are ass's kicked.

Still will be there supporting the team however if that makes any sense.

I read this board often, but rarely post, so Hi everyone. Tonight I came home really disappointed by the game. This team is slipping each and every game. What is going on? I have been a supporter of the coaching staff this season - giving them the benefit of the doubt like Beats does, but I think that it has gone too far. This game reminded me so much of the blowout against (Windsor?) that Sellwood got fired after. This was such a poor effort and a total disrespect to the fans and the companies that pay to support the Gens. This team appears lost and without direction. The only player working hard is Hayes. What is the solution? Ownership just got a formal change, so is it time for a total gut of coaching staff? I know that teams have their ups and downs, but tonight was disgraceful. If this keeps up, ticket sales will slide even more, and so will corporate sponsorship. What is the best way to right this ship?

I have been watching the Gens for a very long time. I am hard pressed to try and remember a game like last night.

To say it was awful would be putting it mildly.

There needs to be complete housecleaning of coaches and older players. I appreciate that will likely be at the end of the season but it has to happen.

I think the coaching staff have to pay the price for the poor performances. Whatever the reason and no matter who is at fault a change is required.

The guy has had lots of time and I am surprised that the big announcement wasn't made by now

I agree. The players will respect them and least have an idea on what the players need to be doing!!
