Kitchener Rangers @ Oshawa Feb 21, 2010
Kitchener Rangers are in the playoffs with 77 points. They played Guelph Friday night and won in overtime. Tonight ( Feb 20, 2010) they travel to Owen Sound. The generals should be well rested after Fridays game and Sat. off. They can win, but do they want too. Zador should start. Keep Clark and Taylor on the bench.
I am still a believer, they will make the playoffs this year.

If Belleville makes us look bad. Kitchener is going to make us look real bad. I would hope if we get blown out again today, something has to be done in terms of moves this week.

I can't believe how bad the refs were for this game. They sure blew a lot of calls . The first goal they called back was a good goal. Then it's an automatic goal when the player is halled down when the net is empty, instead they give a 10 minute misconduct brutal. As far as I'm concerned we won 7-4 instead of the 5-4 score the refs did.
Kudos to the lads for hanging on to this win,now back in last playoff spot.

Referee's?
Great win and outstanding effort by the Gens.
Parlette has to be the worst official i have witnessed in years.
He did everything he could to keep Kitchener in the game,he
was both inconsistent and biased. Hope David Branch is proud
of him?
Again great effort by the boys!!

Good job. Congrats on the trick, Brownie.
Parlette is a disgrace to officiating. Quite frankly, that entire crew sucked.
Way to go Gens. Lets stick to the pattern of lose a bunch THEN win a bunch. Get yourselves in the playoffs and make life suck for one of the top teams in the first round.

For the record there is a difference between belief and the way one thinks. I believe the Gens have a good chance to make the playoffs, however i also believe that the 2nd or 3rd overall pick is better then the 8th playoff seed.
Good game today, Couldn't believe it. The refs destroyed the teams momentum and let the Rangers back in it, and once that happened the Gens sort of looked a little shakey.
Big test against Kingston a game that is winnable, especially when comparted to Kitchener

I didn't see the play where Hayes was halled down with an empty net, but if he wasn't on a breakaway, it was the correct call.
26.1 Awarded Goal – A goal will be awarded to the attacking team when the opposing team has taken
their goalkeeper off the ice and an attacking player has possession and control of the puck in the
neutral or attacking zone, without a defending player between himself and the opposing goal, and he
is prevented from scoring as a result of an infraction committed by the defending team (see 26.3
Infractions – When Goalkeeper is Off the Ice, below).

I loved that sorthanded goal by Thomas. Kitchener played in Owen Sound last night and came straight to Oshawa. Although they looked slow they did hit a couple of posts. The officiating was absolutely brutal. Clark and Taylor, both played. Hayes should have been awarded a goal. I forgot my flag.

The rule is basically that a situation where a penalty shot would be awarded is an automatic goal if the goalie is pulled. Anything that would be a regular minor penalty (or major or misconduct) would be called the same with or without a goalie.

This game was split in 2 - if it lasted a few more minutes who knows what the outcome would be.
The reffing was brutal - not sure what the ruling on a reviewed goal is why the GENS couldn't ask for a review - not sure
Maybe the opposing player has to have complete control and an open net as it appearded to me he hit the post. With only 3 seconds left and we had the lead it didn't bother me as much.
We got the win - that's a great morale booster - but what bothered me is how Kitchener was able to come back and we were sitting back
We are tied with Niagara who has a much easier schedule than we do.
Our next 3 - Kingston and Barrie at home then in Missy - Sunday

While I wasn't at the game, I was really pleased with the effort many of the players put forth. Once Kitchener got a goal you could see the momentum start to swing but our boys kept fighting back. I was very happy to see Brownie get back into the form he showed at the beginning of the season. Zador was on his game and I hope we can see more of that in the games to come. I also thought the referees had a horrible game with some of the calls made and many of the calls that were not made.
Good Luck Boys in your future games, keep working hard and you may be surprised by the outcome.
Go Gens Go
Sincerely

I'm also a fan of superstitions. I changed the warmup music Sunday, I'll be sticking with that so long as they keep winning.

Speaking of superstitions...
Has anyone noticed Jeff Brown? Always coming out 2nd behind the goaltender...
Giving hi fives to every single player. Different depending on who it is. I think it's awesome

Gee Gennie, Your flag looked like the gens did in the 3rd. going backwards. Just kidding. But it was a nice touch to finish the game.
