Re: OHL Schedule
don't like the away games schedule
In S.S.M first on Friday then Sudbury on Saturday.
It is Windsor on Friday and Sarnia on a Saturday,
In Saginaw on Friday and Plymouth on a Saturday.
Will be different road trips this year. Will take some getting used to.

Re: OHL Schedule
Oshawa, ON - June 16th, 2010 - The Ontario Hockey League has released the schedule for the 2010/2011 season. The Generals will kick off their 2010/2011 season with a home and home series against the Peterborough Petes beginning September 23rd on the road followed by the Generals Home Opener Friday, September 24th at 7:35 PM.
Several highlights of this season's schedule include the first ever Generals School Day Game on Tuesday, November 2nd with a special start time of 11 AM when the Generals host the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors. The Generals traditional Remembrance Day game will take place on Friday, November 12th at 7:35 PM against the Belleville Bulls. The 13th Annual Teddy Bear Toss will take place on Thursday, December 2nd against the Kingston Frontenacs. Once again the Generals will play on Family Day, Monday, February 21st when they host the Brampton Battalion at 2:05 PM.
The Generals will also play exhibition games September 12th against the Belleville Bulls in Port Perry, September 15th against the Brampton Battalion in Pickering and on September 19th against the Peterborough Petes at the General Motors Centre.
Generals season tickets are on sale now and are available at the General Motors Centre Ticket Office. Be sure to purchase your season tickets before the June 30th Early Bird Deadline and save 20% versus walk-up rates.
Visit the Generals website www.oshawagenerals.com for the complete schedule.
So basically Season Ticket Holders who don't want to take time off work are losing 3 Games.
Theres only 1 home exhibition game, and from there Family Day and School Day

Re: OHL Schedule
I stand corrected.
It is like two years ago when the Ges were to play Belleville and it took place in Uxbridge. Must be the same kind of idea as something must be happening at the GMC Centre.

It may have a lot to do with raising "General awareness" in the outer reaches of durham region.

Re: OHL Schedule
I get the whole raising awareness in durham, but why not do school day training camp sessions in each city and give out 1000-2000 free tickets to a game at the GMC.
This is how i see it, I love lacrosse and hockey, but the show/product is really different between say a Redmen game and a Rock game, or a Leafs game and a Dunlops game. I know its a little different, but my point is the better arena, the hardcore fans, the stereo system, is all part of the experience.
Its so easy for me to find people to go to a rock game, and so hard to see a Redmen game, even though players are the same.
Atmospere sells tickets. The on ice product keeps people coming back long term.
