Confirmed: Jeff Brown to Windsor
http://www.oshawagenerals.com/article/brown-traded-to-spitfires
Generals Head Coach & General Manager Chris DePiero announced today that the team has traded overage Right Winger Jeff Brown to the Windsor Spitfires in exchange for a 4th round pick in 2013.
Brown, a native of Toronto, is in his third OHL season and originally joined the Generals as a free agent in September 2008. In his two and a half seasons with the Generals he registered 43 goals and 49 assists for 92 points along with 216 penalty minutes in 151 career games with the club.
“Jeff is a real hard working character player. He did everything we asked of him during his time here,” said Chris DePiero. “His work ethic and determination led us to sign him as a free agent and that’s the same reason he was wanted by other teams. It was simply a numbers game here with our overagers.”
With the move, the Generals are now down to the maximum of three overage players as they approach the OHL’s trade deadline. Brown is expected to make his Spitfires debut today when they face the Erie Otters in Windsor.
“We certainly wish Jeff nothing but the best as he joins the Spitfires,” added DePiero. “It was important to us that we could put Jeff in a good situation in his final year in the OHL and we feel we were able to do that.”
