Playoff drive wish list for DIBS
I would really like to see dibs go out and get us a center man to play on the second line there are a few that come to mind and would defenitly be a welcome addishion in order.....
1) Andrew Yogan from Erie
2) Brett Thompson from ssm
3) Andy Bathgate from bel
I dont know if anyone else noticed but Sherry Basin has been at 2 outta the last 4 home games so he is looking at something lol
There is a HUGE mess in the sault so Thompson may want out and what better way to end his ohl career then with a nice long playoff run
As for bathgate he would just be a so called fill in if the price was to high for the other two.
I would also like to see a "Brown like player" to play the bang and crash style that we should have never gave up in the first place but maybe we can find a 19 year old with the same skill set to play on the thrid line.
I honestly feel that if we can address theis two things we will be able to contend with Ottawa and Missy just my two cents.

Re: Playoff drive wish list for DIBS
I love Brown but since the trade was Brown for DiSalvo straight up (almost), i'm totally cool with that move. We do need to bring in that type of guy though, maybe someone a little younger that we can play next year as well. For a walk on player getting a 4th round pick for him rocks in my opinion
Ya I know off topic.
My wish list
-out with the old (Valentine de Haan Dehart)
-in with the new (a young stud d-man for this year and next year, picks)
-a talented player to go with Thomas (prefer someone for next year as well)

I agree with you Valentine is very valuable and I too would NEVER trade him exspecially since he very well could be back next year, I doubt he stays in the ahl Iv seen way better d men then him play out there O/a season.
As for the chemisty your right but we need to add a center most defenitly and a tuff guy our come play off time jenner and tomas will be on the gound looking up just like in the niagara game. I say get rid of clark even tho I like him he's a waste of a spot and add one of the players I mentioned in my last post and we should be set... thats not disruppting much at all, if anything.

You are right Valentine is very valuable. Thats why you trade him for a player guranteed to be here next year.
Do what we did with Tavares and Delzotto and ship out Valentine and DeHaan if the Price is Right.

Re: Playoff drive wish list for DIBS
Great idea - But who needs 2 Dee - I would love to get Nick Ehbert from Windsor who may add players
Tavares and DelZotto - was much different than Dehann and Valentine
top # 1 pick forward and a top 2 def - some would say Dehaan and Valentine are 1 & 2 Def
You would not get the same return

Sherry Bassin still lives in Oshawa guys. It's not uncommon to see him at arenas or even walking his dog around.

Re: Playoff drive wish list for DIBS
trading valentine makes no sense , sorry , and dehaan only if you get top young forwrd , ie a former ist round pick , otherwise he stays , and that wont likely happen , so my guess is no significant move will happen . no big trades !!! we'll see !

After the way Valentine played yesterday there is no value in a return, lucky to get draft picks and we have enough of them.

The whold defence was brutal last night although Maggio didn't have a bad game for his first as a General.

I didnt know that thanks for sharing...however he was there again last night isnt hats a tad bit coincidental, seems that way to me exspecially since he has his own team to worry about.

Lets no be so harsh they did have a bad game but peter let in two very soft goals and looked like a peewee goalie in the shoot out I think his jock is still out there on the ice....

Re: Playoff drive wish list for DIBS
Dips ran 4 D for most of the night and Maggio looked like a tier 2 player / Slow moving/ beaten to the outside/ delivers a pizza first shift of the game/ loses stick and glove on one shift floppin around like a dead fish / never made one bone crushing body check .I'd ask for the 4 picks back and sent him back to Guelph on the bus.Gens_Fan_22 wrote:The whold defence was brutal last night although Maggio didn't have a bad game for his first as a General.

You have to give someone a few games to adjust to a new team.

Then don't play him 25 min his first game back . He has been practising with this team since there last home game against Ottawa . He has plenty of time to adjust . Not impressed !!! Dasilvo had no problem adjusting

Re: Playoff drive wish list for DIBS
The difference being Di Salvo was playing and Maggio has not played a game in several months.
As to Sherry Bassin he has been to quite a lot of games. He often spends time there chatting with other people from other teams. I don't think you can read a whole lot into it.

Another difference is that Di Salvo is a goalie. While there is of course some communication with your defence, it's not comparable. The goalie's job is to stop the puck. Being in sync with your linemates as a forward or defence partner in Maggio's case is something that takes much longer to develop. When Di Salvo is facing a two-on-one, a breakaway, a point shot, a deflection, a one-timer, whatever - he's seeing opposition sweaters, it's exactly the same. As a defenceman, the breakout play out of your own zone is designed differently depending on who's coaching and who your defence partner is. There's way more to learn.
As for playing 25 minutes a game, if you don't play him, he doesn't adjust. Play him 12 minutes a game and he'll need twice as many games to adjust. Play him 6 minutes a game and he'll take four times as long.

On the topic of wish lists, wish I had the ability to see into the future and whether the Gens were going to be in the Memorial Cup or not. I'd be looking at Memorial Cup ticket package prices since they went on sale today!
