Wolves vs Gens
Well we should come out flying after that great come from behind game last night vs 67's
You cannot take this team lightly buried the PETES last night 9 - 4 and have a great power play
It would be nice to see a lead and great start tonight - reaaly like Sabourin energy lately

Re: Wolves vs Gens
Not much too say - poor effort
Our last 5 home games - Beat Kitchener - lost to Guelph and Petes - Beat Ottawa = lost to Sudbury - go figure

Re: Wolves vs Gens
They step it up against the top teams and fail to get up for games against weaker opposition. Frustrating.

Re: Wolves vs Gens
so...i am assuming that because we lost the boys put in a "poor effort" or because sudbury is below us in the points total?....just an F.Y.I. sudbury is 3w & 1L in there last 4 games so they are playing good hockey also. i actually thought they play a fairly decent game tonight! geez we only had 2 penelities & the one Andreoff was questionable!

I agree 100% Beats...sorry bout that. Since I agree, the bulk of the folks here won't. LOL
The Gens lost a real opportunity this weekend. Loses to Kingston and Sudbury put them 5 points back with 2 games in hand when they could have been 1 point back with 2 games in hand. Go figure. Loses against the Petes earlier to add to this and it just makes you shake your head. The good thing in all of it I guess, is they will be ready for the playoffs, cause it seems that they only get up for the better teams.
All in all, I would rather be frustrated once in a while with losing when we should have won (and still be a top team in the conference), than be frustrated all the time like the previous years.
Go Gens Go.........start playing like EVERY game matters!!!

Re: Wolves vs Gens
So much for looking forward to this one all day. As I said in the Gens/67's game day thread, getting a game like this is one of the most frustrating things in sports.

Re: Wolves vs Gens
A couple of comments.
1. Was very surprised to see DiSalvo in net for a third night in a row after a below average game vs. Kingston and an at best average game vs. Ottawa. After 10 goals against in less than a game and half, and considering Bailie was good vs. Peterborough, and great in relief vs. Kingston, IMO Bailie should have started vs. Sudbury. 3 out of the 5 goals very stoppable last night. A possibly tired goalie who hasn't been playing very well of late anyhow. Very poor decision by DePeiro.
2. In the loss to Peterborough, we take a bad penalty while trailing by one goal (none scoring opportunity) in the final 5 minutes, the same last night with 2 1/2 minutes left. Same player. Needs to be addressed.

Re: Wolves vs Gens
Someone should teach the Gens coaches the powerplay system/style the Wolves were employing. Plenty of crisp tape to tape passes into the slot and crease area without skirting around the periphery for long periods of time. We need a powerplay coach!

Re: Wolves vs Gens
I also would have started Bailie. Win or lose against Sudbury, Di Salvo needs to be well-rested when the playoffs start. I wouldn't be playing any goalie in all three of a three-in-three weekend.
