Kingston @ Gens Jan. 22nd

Time for a game day thread on this one. This is one of the games in hand the Gens have on Ottawa...a win puts them 5 points back of the 67's again, still with a game in hand. Being 9 points ahead of Kingston after tonight sure sounds better than just being 5 points ahead. Should be motivation enough for a good effort!

It's too bad we had that collapse in the last 6 minutes of the game. We need the extra space in the standings over Kingston. If we end up playing them in the first round of the playoffs, we need home ice.

I was glad to hear a 5 minute penalty to Gudbranson in addition to the 2/5/10 he got...I couldn't believe at the time when the penalties were announced that he didn't get anything for the hit on Labardo, but they did add that announcement later on. Haven't seen a replay, but I didn't think Labardo's was anything like a check to the head at all. The lopsided powerplays (6-1 for Kingston) didn't really reflect how the game went in my opinion. We've got skilled guys up front and the hooks/holds on them sometimes don't seem to result in the same number of powerplays. I guess that's just one of those things you see differently as a home fan.

Anyone go to the town hall after the game? If so, were there some good questions asked?
