2011-2012 Season Ticket Renewals
Seems we have a bit of a price increase and I have a problem. When the GM Centre was built, I was afraid I was going to eventually be priced out of my hockey tickets AND I said when it hits $1000 for a pair of seasons tickets, I would be out. Well, for next season it is $521.22 for a bowl seat, IF you pay by June 1, so that's the discounted price. Not sure at this point what I'm going to do.

Re: 2011-2012 Season Ticket Renewals
That happened to me with TFC season tickets. Now I split with a cousin of mine and we both attend half of the games. If you want to attend more than half of the games, I know of another couple that does a 75/25 split. Basically whoever pays the greater share gets the greater share of the tickets.
I'm not sure if that's feasible for you but just throwing it out there. I'm sure you'd rather attend all the games but one benefit I'm finding in the split is that conflicts are easier to deal with. If I have a wedding or something that would have made me miss a game, I can easily just swap tickets with my cousin and not have to worry about trying to sell them to someone and recoup the cost.

Re: 2011-2012 Season Ticket Renewals
This price increase is not to be blamed on the new arena
Just look around at gas prices - the cost of transporting an OHL team, around the OHL plus increased cost - look around the OHL - the cost is not out of line well under $20.00 a game - 34 games at home / 521 = around $15.00 - not bad
The part - I wish you could see the days you don't want before you drop your $$$$$ - like dumb - school day game and Sat night games plus too many - Sat & Sun games together

Let me know what you find out. If memory serves, we have one year left on the three year price freeze right? My tix should be $750 per seat again this year!

don't forget HST applies this year... the early bird (bowl seats) minus the HST is about $453

I noticed that about no info on the 3 year renewal. I was sure it was a guarantee of no increases.
Post what the response is.
Thanks

3 year Plan
I e-mailed Jason on this subject, He said he will send out a reminder on 3 year pricing in a few weeks. He also said plan to pay the $75 deposit per seat, last season they had a few walk away from the 3 year season ticket plan.
I have no issue with this since all of the $ goes to the final price.
If I remember we have a $100 deposit also per seat already ?
Regards

Re: 2011-2012 Season Ticket Renewals
Well it appears like the next couple of years could be dynamite years
If you are on board now - why jump off now - Oshawa is still 1 of the best home buildings in the OHL and 1 of the lowest prices.
Their will always be increases - check the gas pump- hydro bill etc - cut some where else
This is still the best bang for your buck - GO GENS GO

Gens camper.
At the Peterbough game last night. They said there was no increase next year for season tickets there. If you got them by a certian date. I think if you already put a $100.00 down 2 years ago. You shouldn't have to pony up until June 30th. They have a commitment to us as well. They have had our money for all this time. I feel I have kept my part. Now they should keep theirs. No deposit. (already paid.) No increase. Its the princible.

Re: 2011-2012 Season Ticket Renewals
I think they promised us no increases not no additional deposits.
I have no problem with the deposit. Given the explanation that some folks walked away from the commitment it makes sense to me.

Re: 2011-2012 Season Ticket Renewals
In addition to a free jersey, the $100.00 deposit per seat per season,
will also lock in the current season ticket holder price for the next
three years. This means NO PRICE INCREASE on the price of
season tickets for the 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 seasons.
The above quote is from the 2009-2010 Season Ticket renewal letter.

Re: 2011-2012 Season Ticket Renewals
I haven't been paying attention to this thread so I don't know the details but if the increase is 8% as somebody else mentioned, that isn't a price increase, it's the application of the HST. I don't think the Gens would have been allowed to do a 3-year deal which circumvented the application of the HST. There was a deadline to avoid HST in the first year.
Is there a price increase to those who commited for three years that is separate from the application of the HST?

Re: 2011-2012 Season Ticket Renewals
I tried to call Jason last Friday when I received the renewal e-mail. His voicemail said he was out of the office until the 18th of March. That could be why you have not received a response.. assuming it's coming from him of course.

Re: 2011-2012 Season Ticket Renewals
I dropped my renewal form off yesterday & this is what I was told.
- If you had signed up for the 3 yr deal you do not pay the $75 now
- If you chose the option to have the money from any unused playoff tickets put towards next years seasons tickets, they will let you know the outstanding amount after the Gens are none playoffs
