Discipline, respect...how about the off ice officials show a bit of that to the players? I'm at a game a couple of weeks back, referee Ryan Carroll comes into a mild scrum in an intense game -- the first scrum of the game yet -- and his words, clearly audible, were "grow the f--- up." He didn't say "calm down" or "take it easy." whether you're a homeless guy, the president of the United States, or the Queen of England, you get treated with the respect you give to others. Anything else is wrong.

Yet later in the game, Carroll calls a cheap penalty where nobody even knows what team it's on. Three players look at him to see if it's a penalty, none say one word. He immediately puts his hands on his hips for a misconduct, and at that point, still nobody knows who the call is on!! The poor player never said a word.

To teach young people to not question people like that is wrong. We already have a ton of problems in the world because too many people are intimidated into staying quiet. When I see that happening in our society, in our game, I will vehemently oppose such action.

Hockey also teaches passion and emotion. You want discipline and respect, join the army. Hockey's about passion and emotion. Without those two elements, the game is nothing.

So does that start now and will he sit tonights game vs the bulls and my next question..How many playoff games will he miss.Yes he shoulda got more games.I wonder if this will effect any pay back if we play them in the 1st round.

nevermind,kingston has 3 games remaining so he should miss the next 2 games of the playoffs.I dont see it on the OHL site though i know they are slower then a turtles race at everything they do.

he'll be back the 3rd playoff game as accordding to the ohl website.

I was hoping they'd wait until today to make the suspension effective so that it would cut into the playoffs more...almost happened. Werek probably knew earlier in the day, but they waited until after 5:00 pm to make the decision public...at that point with a 7:00 pm game, it could have waited another day.

Some are never satisfied - at least he got 5 games - move on

Yes, that was Zack Fenwick. It involved him picking Conor's head of the ice and slamming it back down.

I hope the Gens are talking about revenge - the best way possible - ending Kingston's season.
