Time to Smuggle Jack Campbell Out of Windsor
Memo to Chris DePiero: Now that Windsor is done and the Windsor fans are down on Campbell, it's time to convince Rychel to send him to the Gennies (cheap)! He's a '92 and probably the best available (maybe) goalie out there, with stress on the words 'available' and 'maybe'. Your thoughts?

Re: Time to Smuggle Jack Campbell Out of Windsor
Okay, I'm aware his numbers were not good at all this year, but he was highly rated by the OHL crowd and NHL folks. You are not going to get any other of the top 12 goalies (using OHL site stats) as they are all young and/or with teams which will be contenders next year or a key part of rebuilding teams. Campbell just turned 19 in January, I believe, and has "potential". The only other option is to find a gem in the Import Draft, a solution a lot of other teams have had success with.

Further to my "discussion" with TipcoSr, Campbell was the World Junior All Star goalie as I recall and was drafted in the 1st round of the 2010 NHL Draft by the Dallas Stars... not too shabby!

And again, just to beat this topic to death, there is some speculation on another Board of Campbell being moved and Oshawa is seen as a prime destination. Someone suggested we give them Baillie and several picks. Yet another, suggested that they might expect Laughton and more in return! Yeah, right!

Well the last time the Gens made a trade with Windsor for a goaltender it did not work out so well.

Re: Time to Smuggle Jack Campbell Out of Windsor
I thought the price was too high for any goalie early in the season and clearly I was wrong. (Apparently, some people say that I always think I'm right so there you go). I can't believe how little they gave up for Di Salvo although the fact that he's an OA and Barrie was rebuilding and wanted to give him the opportunity to play somewhere else is a key reason why this trade was able to be done.
Using this model, is there another OA goalie that could be in a similar situation next year that could be available? That's a tough one to predict because we don't know whether teams will use their OA spot on a goalie but perhaps an OA rental goalie is a successful model to follow.

I know a goalie that could problably have and could come cheap Chris Perugini from SSM,I read an articale from the Soo a month or so ago saying that they want to make Matt Murray there back up past season as there #1
and I think there still rebuilding stage but with the new GM there who know.Chris Perugini did say that he wants to play 45-50 games next season and I don't know if he would get that up @ the Soo.
I think he would be a perfect fit for the Gens.

Very similar stats to Campbell, almost identical. Negatives are, he is tiny, about 5'10'/ 160lbs. and eats up an overage spot. No thank you!

Re: Time to Smuggle Jack Campbell Out of Windsor
Chris Perugini was showcased by Ottawa vs the GENS but passed on him and a few days later was traded to the SOO, maybe the price was too high.
His stats this year in the SOO was not that great.

Back to Jack Campbell! Not good numbers, but is the third goalie for the Americans at the 'World Championships'!
