John Tavares

It was announced on the television broadcast last night that John is matching the total number of animals collected in the TeddyBear Toss last night. An extra 4012 will be donated to charities for a total of 8024. Too bad this wasn't announced at the game as well...if it was I never heard it.
As well, it is great that he is paying for a minor team to come to the Gens games for the rest of the season with other goodies attached.
Once a General, always a General.

Thats awesome! Why that wasn't announced at the last home game is beyond me, sometimes something like that will compel people to donate even more. People can think hey if I buy 1 more bear thats really 2. Also we need to go back to selling bears at the game! A few deke the bears is ok, but why can't they have dollarama, or toysrus or something like that as a sponsor selling bears in the stands.

I still can't believe the Gens didn't win with Tavares and Del Zotto (or get the Memorial Cup with them here with a brand new arena) ... it's very unfortunate the team mis-managed during their time as Generals!

We had a coach who knew nothing about coaching (Sellwood ) glad he's gone

Just remember that the Gens did not win the Memorial Cup with Bobby Orr (along with some other fine hockey players).
