Jenner ejected in semi-finals vs. Russia

Russian guy levels Jenner with a viscous elbow that targeted the head and gets 2 minutes for elbowing and Jenner gives a Russian guy a poke in the gut and gets 5 and a game misconduct......WTF...

Are we sure we wanna celebrate this on the 13th,its getting uglier and uglier by each period and if canada plays like this they wont win a medal at all....

The refs sure are blowing this game big time.....WOW!!!!

The guys have to realize that it's international hockey. You spear a guy (yes, it was really only a poke, but technically Jenner speared him) you're going to go to the box. Same with Huberdeau and slashing his stick against the boards - it's a penalty in international hockey. I watched the other quarter final and semi final games and it struck me how few penalties Russia, Sweden and Finland took. Canada had way too many penalties throughout the tournament and you can't blame them all on the refs. The first call of tonight's game was clearly wrong, as it wasn't a Canadian stick that hit the Russian player, but Canada was undisciplined and took too many penalties.

I give them credit for their impressive comeback, but it was too little, too late. Hopefully they can get their discipline in order to go for the bronze medal. I'll be cheering them on Thursday! Go Canada Go!

Not the start I thought Canada would have, and from that extreme, certainly not the finish I expected Canada to have.

Re: Jenner, it was a spear regardless, and its IIHF. They dont screw around. To be honest, I saw the Russian players hit on Jenner to look awfully similar to the hit Jenner laid out early in the tournament. Also worth noting the refs totally blew what should have beena penalty shot to the Russians, both teams were blessed with calls.

First 40 cost them a chance at gold, baring anything ridiculous, they should be able to snag a bronze.

I dont put all the blame on the refs,in fact this was a team melt down and at times kinda comical as i could'nt believe it could'nt get any worse and it does over and over again.The come back,yeah too little too late,where have we seen that before,alot like another team we know.

- Maybe if our players showed up at the drop of the puck we coulda won....

- maybe if our goalies showed up to play we coulda won...

- Maybe if jenner kept his stick on the ice we coulda won....

They better play a whole lot better if they want to win bronze cause they looked aweful at times during that game.Comeback or no comeback it was way too late and when playing russia to play for a gold medal you gotta play 60 MINUTES...Not just the last 10 minutes of the game!!!!

jenner has been known to be undisciplined at times , and that spear was a good example , dumb , well hopefully he learned something from this experience , he'll miss playing in the teams final game !

I personally wasn't in any way bashing Jenner, just stating that if you take undisciplined penalties it's going to cost you in these international games. Like it or not, the rules are different in IIHF games and they'll call you for things you would get away with in the OHL.

I do think a suspension for the bronze medal game is harsh given that Jenner already had a 5 minute major and was thrown out of the game, but I was glad to see that the Russian who hit Jenner was also suspended for the gold medal game. Yes, the Russians were diving all over the place and there were some bad calls by the refs, but that wasn't the reason Canada lost the game. They just didn't show up to play the whole 60 minutes and Russia had a goalie that wasn't going to let much get through him.

I'm not pathetic, nor am I bashing Jenner. He played really well during the tournament and really made a name for himself. I look forward to seeing him play when he gets back to Oshawa. I think we'll see some new fire from him and he'll continue to shine throughout the season.

I like that someone gets called pathetic for bashing when the person was making a valid point. Then the best part makes a statement hating an entire race of hockey players!! while using foul language..Oh and by the way they are all KIDS!! as well. Maybe you might want to think about what you are typing before you do because you don't want to come across as ...oh lets say pathetic!!
