Adam LLoyd
Not to be nasty, but what does Adam Lloyd bring to this team? Never scored in the past. Not scoring in three games this year. Not overly physical. Must be a "nice guy". I'd rather see one of our younger players getting more ice time and bring up another as a learning experience. Am I missing something? Sorry, Adam!

Re: Adam LLoyd
I believe there is 3 or 4 players that could be replaced by younger players, not because they are bad, but because they won't be around by the time a rebuild is completed.
Two problems
1) We can't lose every game, the team would take a huge financial hit and we have never been super stable financially to begin with.
2) it's not easy to find rookies that are going to blossom into stars
As for Lloyd maybe he's really good in the room, or with the rookies. Great team mates are hard to find and sometimes a few great seeds in a room makes a huge difference. I don't think he's that bad, he's definitely not a Laughton type player if that's what your looking for.
Was there someone you had in mind that would have been capable of performing equally or better then Adam. If so then who?

Re: Adam LLoyd
Nothing personal but the Gens are in a rebuilding year. You don't rebuild with 4th year players who are basically 4th liners! Archer_gens, I know you can't have a team of 16 and 17 year olds. They would lose every game and the fans would stop coming. Not looking for a rookie to blossom into a star, just a 17 year old who when given the chance, could, come January, do what Lloyd now does which has been succinctly summarized by mcintyre above. That being said,I was impressed with the team last night which for the most part, played evenly with a team which personnel-wise is a stronger team (more depth!) Alittle more finish around the net and the score could have been reversed.

Re: Adam LLoyd
On Adam Llyod, my personal opinion on the kid is he's a 4th line player. What does he add.. Well he's a veteran an been around so he's probably pretty good in the dressing room, like someone previously mentioned. When he gets out there he isn't a horrible player but he definitely doesn't stand out or out shine younger players. In this rebuilding year I feel giving a player like Owen McDade his minutes would greatly benifit the team in the future. McDade had a great offensive season as a 16 year old in the CCHL last year, had a good pre season and now has been nailed to the bench. The kid needs an opportunity to play to improved an develop.
In conclusion my point is there is a place for Adam Llyod but he doesn't do anything a younger player can't, there for in this a rebuilding season he should be the one nailed to the bench in favour of younger players.

Re: Adam LLoyd
We are now in Kingston but have been watching the Gens, forever, and the Fronts in the old barn and new rink. This will be the first year that Fronts crowds should be near what the Gens have had for years in the last 11 years that we have watched down here. My fellow Gens fans know when they come to Kingston, that most of the fans are disguised as empty seats. Like I said, I am old, senile, decrepit and have seen the Gens through good times and bad since 1962. The Kingston people have a good team, but, not a great team yet. Two years from now they will be rebuilding, too.Keep smiling Gens fans. If you finally have the scouts, not good friends of the owner(Davies) who didn't know a hockey player from a spittoon, you will be find and I look forward to seeing the crowds and the team when I get back there November 2nd. Fondest regards. The old Croc.

Re: Adam LLoyd
Okay, so we have the answer to my query. Hate to see players go this way but as Adam stated, "got to do whats best for me". Anyone know where he's headed or planning on doing?

Carleton Place are in the CCHL. Currently leading their league...looks like a good spot to be.
Wishing Adam good luck with his new team!
