Busy week!
well this will be a very busy week for the gennies!
Tuesday up to Ottawa
Friday down to Erie
Saturday over to Niagara
Sunday home to Belleville
It will be a good time to see how close there really are with some key injury and a very busy week. I'm one that thinks that they will:
A) do fine this week as I honestly feel they are playing as a team & not as individuals
B) although we may need some help later in the year we don't need to trade today, why would we?
just my thoughts
lets go you gennies...........................

Re: Busy week!
Ottawa, we should do fine tonight.
We were blown out last year down in Erie and will have a tough time again on Friday night.
Niagara most likely will be ok but the boys will be running on fumes on Sunday if they stay short handed with the injuries. At least the rookies are getting lots of ice time and experience.
For trades, I would like to see a big body get in front of the net for the PP.

Re: Busy week!
I am looking forward to fridays game, i think it will be a great game, and chance to see how we stack up against Erie. My thinking is if we can beat london then we can beat anybody so we will see how things turns out.I think if Alltshuller can play at the top of his game then he should keep it close enough that we may have a chance.I will be going to the bar to watch this one friday night!!!! GO GENS GO!!!!

Tonight we may be a little short on the back end... and the team might be a little distracted with off ice issues... If it does happen it's totally understandable!!

Re: Busy week!
I think they will use the funeral tomorrow as motivation to play for Will and his Dad tonight. I would expect nothing less than 110% tonight... for Will's Dad.chupa81 wrote:Tonight we may be a little short on the back end... and the team might be a little distracted with off ice issues... Re: Busy week!
I agree, I too expect 110%... But if they do lay an egg, I wouldn't be upset!!
I know others on this board, may jump off the band wagon and start saying here we go!!!
It's a perfect set up for a bad game, that's all I'm saying!!
Will's playing tonight...would be great if he could get one for Dad!! Go Gens Go!!!

Sorry,....didn't realize the Petschenig funeral was upcoming. Thought that was all in the past as Will has played in their last few games. Let's move on from this discussion.

Re: Busy week!
I agree very class thing for the whole team to support their fellow teammate. It was a tragic event and my regards to the Petschening family.
On the topic that was originally posted, I think the Generals will do alright in Ottawa, it could be closer then it should be, just based on the long bus ride on a week night, it's an unusual time for most OHL teams to play. In Erie could be a tough one, Erie is a great team, an even better in Erie, and there hot. I think it will be a great game an I pray that it's televised. Niagara could be tricky, if they lose in Erie I think they'll be fired up to get back on the winning side, if they win, It wouldn't surprise me to see a little bit of a let down. Niagara isn't as talented as the Generals, but they play well at home, they really use there arena to their advantage. Sunday, no matter when the game is the Generals always get up for games against Belleville, I think it will be a win for the Gens. I'm betting they go 4-0-0-0 3 wins and a shootout/OT loss. None the less 7 points out of 8 would be fantastic.

Re: Busy week!
I doubt the game will be on tv Friday.
US games are never broadcast in Canada.

Re: Busy week!
Games not being broadcast this year
Nov 8th @ Erie
Nov 29th @ Plymouth
Nov 30th @ Saginaw
Jan 3rd @ Sudbury
Feb 16th @ North Bay (might change as I think they are still sorting out there tv contracts)
This is according to the OHL Action Pak Schedule. It tells which stations carry the home and away game for each team, usually Cogeco or Rogers.

Re: Busy week!
Actually not a bad drive. My son and I went down last year and had a great time. The rink was under going the much needed renovation and was not in good shape. From the pictures this year the rink looks much nicer. 0% sales tax on clothing helps as well for corss border shopping. I would go but I have tickets for the Dixie Chicks.

Re: Busy week!
$7 per game on OHL livestream. I've watched a few games on my pc. It's not great quality but not that bad either. Higher internet speed the better to limit the streaming delays. Not a bad option for the few games a year in the US you can't see otherwise. GO GENS!!

Re: Busy week!
I suggest buying a five game pack, saves you a dollar a game, and there are 5 games not on tv this year.

Re: Busy week!
I watched the whole game, the Gens gave it one really good period. 4 Shots in the first period was a disaster as we couldn't get it out of our end all night. 6 Shots in the Second we played a little better but they took a 3-1 lead.
Finally started to find our game in the third frame but only found the back of the net once.
Worst 60 minute effort I've seen in the past 10 or so games, in my opinion.
That being said I'm excited to see the boys turn it around tonight in Niagara
anyone else going?
