Riley Stillman won't be wearing the Gen's uniform this season, as he will be protecting his scholarship.

He did not look like a 4th rounder at the rookie camp. There was no way he was making the Gens this year.

Riley Stillman, is a decent hockey player with good bloodlines. Did he go a bit higher then he should of, absolutely. I had him as a 6th rounder, possibly slipping to the 7th. He's a kid you either love or hate. While watching him in Minor Midget, I saw games where he showed tremendous potential, and in other games he was unnoticeable.
Cobourg is really stacking their lineup this summer, as they have been one of the most active OPJAHL teams to date. I recommend you all to get out to Whitby Fury, Pickering Panthers or Cobourg Cougars game to check this kid and his development out.
As far as him keeping his options open, if he suites up in the pre-season will know what he's decided. Plenty of mid-late round OHL picks sign with Tier 2 teams as they have been told by their OHL team they need a year or two of seasoning at the tier 2 level.

I'm sure Riley Stillman was pick that high, as
Jeff Twohey has prior connections with Riley's Father Cory, and this is not taking anything away from Riley talent but more than likely that's why he was taken higher than he should been.

Agreed. An stuff like that is why organizations don't win championships. When you play minor hockey, even at the AAA level, its who knows who and connections that get kids with less skill on top teams or to the AAA level. All of that nonsense needs to stop once you reach the OHL level.

Thinking about it, it is just us few left for the summer. I'm a huge Gens fan but I call them as I see them. Looks like we are aligned on this one.

I'm glad to hear the positive report on his MM potential.

On the surface, another wasted draft pick. Many other teams seem to pick up undraftedplayers and fliers (read Americans).. why can't we? The Gens pick too many players that won't report.
