New GM Roger Hunt said he was informed by the Panthers that Brown, last year’s captain, will play in an NHL exhibition game Saturday. Brown will remain Oshawa’s captain if he returns to junior, but it’s possible he could start his pro career in the Panthers’ system.

Hunt also remains in wait-and-see mode for the team’s star player, Michael Dal Colle, the fifth overall pick of the New York Islanders. Dal Colle will be a key cog for the Generals if and when he returns, but he will likely get a long look from the NHL club.

It didn't state the Brown will may Florida, he could start his pro career in the "Panthers’ system"
Also I don't want to read into this but why did they name Cole Captain already they could of gone with just 3 A's till Brown returns. But if Cole is the captain well deserved choice and it sounds good too:

I don't think cole has been named captain. Pretty sure he is wearing the C, until brown returns. Last season when brown was out Scotty had the C on his jersey. This team feels it's important for a veteran to have a C on his jersey.
