mygens; I think you hid the true answer to the loud PA in your response.......

Hey Macker, I have a very close insider connection to Vande Sompel. The injury is an upper body and he fully expected to be back playing this weekend.

Re: Injury report
Is Templeton hurt to ? Hasn't played since the Kingston game on Jan. 8. I know he's a guy that's been in an out of the lineup, but the Gens went with 5 D a couple times over the past few games. An the used Stillman & Robertson as tier 2 Junior A call ups.
With no offence to Templeton I believe Stillman should be up and playing over him, Robertson has improved as well. But if you've sent Robertson to the Whitby Fury and Stillman has been playing for the Cobourg Cougars, why not reassign Templeton back to Milton or another tier 2 team, so he can play.. if he's not hurt. When the D-Core is fully healthy there's little to no chance he plays.

Re: Injury report
Templeton is hurt. He and Robertson both got injured in practice. Robertson returned Friday in Kitchener but Templeton is still out.

Well let's hope the team gets all of their injuries out of the way with now. Can't have this happen in a few months.

Re: Injury report
Yeah but he could of played last Sunday right.. Lol. What a joke, with the false information. Matt Mistele being held out, could of played last sunday but with a weak opponent why risk it. 2nd place team in the East comes to town tonight, still no Mistele.. what's the excuse this time ?
Mygens, doesn't surprise me that Smith has a more serious injury then suspected, you don't just collapse on the bench because. Bruised Lung would make a lot of sense given where Lizotte got him.
None the less, on a positive note, big win tonight. Hopefully, we get some guys back Friday, as North Bay is a big challenge.. not overlooking the Petes but Friday is the big one next week.

DJ Smith says all Injured players will skate tomorrow, while the rest of the team will get the day off. Expects them all back for next weekends games.

Re: Injury report
Well the team deserves a day off , while sick bay hits the ice , the boys being short handed and 3 games in 3 days deserved it , gritty performance , especially against a very hungry Barrie team
Appleby stood on his head , we will need a full lineup to beat them come playoff time
Not getting over excited about next weekend returns , what DJ expects and what actually happens seems to be entirely two different things .......I EXPECT the Easter Bunny to come as well .

I really like McCarron , but he will hopefully tone down the extracurricular razzing , otherwise , Branch will get him
Great addition to the team

I don't think Branch will have anything to do it and shouldn't get involved as He got a penalty for it yesterday and it could of cost us, so I hope DJ give a talk to McCarron, I'm sure he was doing the same thing in London for the last 2 season , and nothing was done.

He got another misconduct at the end of the game , just don't want him to become a marked man by the officials , and don't kid yourself Branch does whatever he wants

Re: Injury report
Mitchel Vande Sompel has dropped out of the prospects game this Thursday due to his upper body injury. Looks like it was worse than he thought/ or hoped.

Re: Injury report
Matt Barzal from Seattle dropped out as well a week or so ago, however he will play this weekend for Seattle. Here's hoping Vande Sompel simply doesn't want to make his return in a game such as the Top Prospects game and will return this weekend.

We need he and Petshenig back on the blue line , the ganes are going to get tougher from here on

Re: Injury report
In all honesty we need them both back lol.
Vande Sompel I believe is ultimately more important however, we are really missing his puck distribution skills, his vision from the back, power play skills and ability to gain the offensive zone with his skating ability. Carlisle can do similar things at times, but he still makes questionable decisions with the puck, when he does gain the line, he seems to never know if he should drive the net, hold up or make a pass, and by that time he has a defender on him. He also can seem tentative at times when rushing.
With that being said, Will brings a lot of physicality and ruggedness to the backend and its something the team is lacking, other then of course Josh Brown. Mermis has brought some physicality and hard nosed play, but not what Petschenig brings.
I've really not been impressed with Stephen Desrocher during the absences of Vande Sompel, Petschenig and Mermis for a short while. You'd expect him to step up with the added ice time, he didn't handle it well in my opinion. He wasn't bad, but he wasn't good. He still makes questionable decisions with pucks and doesn't like to be the first one in the corner. While he's getting more of a physical edge to him, he needs to get to the corners first, come playoff time a lost race to the puck could be the turning point in a game. I also think he has some trouble with his puck retrievals, when he stands up guys at the blue line, an they dump the puck behind him, he has trouble accelerating/pivoting at high pace and often gets beat to the puck.

Re: Injury report
DJ has confirmed that Hunter Smith will be back for Tuesdays game against the 67's. Is Manchurek going to be the odd man out? Cant think they sit Huether with the streak hes riding these days.

Re: Injury report
With Hunter Smith returning got to think he rejoins Cole Cassels, which means the lineup probably looks like this,
Smith-Cassels-McCarron
Mistele-Cirelli-Dal Colle
Lindberg-Wallace-Pedersen
Latour-Harding-Huether
Or Possibly
Smith-Cassels-Latour
Dal Colle-Cirelli-Mistele
Lindberg-McCarron-Pedersen
Wallace-Harding-Huether
Either way it's a shame Turner and Manchruek will have a hard time getting in the lineup, both have been playing well of late.

Re: Injury report
Not sure that I like Mistele and Dal Colle on the same line , defensive liability ?? They seem to struggle in the defensive zone !
Nice thing about having a lot of depth , keeps the guys hungry to get or keep their ice time !
I'm loving it !

Where is Wallace, there is no way he sits it's either Turner, Huether (that one would be a hard one) or Manchruek.

Re: Injury report
It sucks that we have to break up that 4th line of Manchurek-Harding-Huether. Those guys were phenomenal against London. Would like to see what else they can do. But Hunter is just as much a key player so someones sitting.
