Taylor Carnevale
Taylor Carnevale has 4 goals and 6 assists for Barrie and stands in the top three scorers in the league, at present. I know he won't achieve at that level as the season wears on but with two years left (91), I cannot figure out why we acquired him and gave up on him so quickly and I wondered this last year too so this isn't hindsight. Plus , I believe, we got less for him in the Barrie trade than what we paid for him. I heard he was a "fringer", lacked speed and "didn't go to the net" etc. but does anyone have any solid info on this young man as to why he didn't stick as a Gen?

There have been a lot of trades that I don't like.

Re: Taylor Carnevale
Before all you backseat managers think this is another bad trade. Goto the game sheets and see where his points are coming from.
Oh in case that is too hard work for you folks, Two of his goals are evenstrength, the rest of his points are from special teams. Maybe playing with luke pither, josh brittan, bryan cameron and burmistrov has anything to do with his padded stats. PLEASE. Lets see how he makes out next year when all these players are gone. He would be racking up the points as a general playing on the first line with brown and thomas.

Thanks for the info and the attitude, GMC 118. The question was seeking information and you provided it. Many of us don't have your tremendous abilities of analysis or we don't know the dressing room background. My question was why did we part with O'Dell? Any idea why?

Re: Taylor Carnevale
We parted with Odell, because he would not sign here. He wasnt happy with the school package etc he was offered. He didnt even report to oshawa.

Re: Taylor Carnevale
I wish i knew exactly, but it must deal with their schooling after their jr careers are finished and how much $$$ these teams are willing to dish out for the players schooling.Dont quote me for sure, maybe UGENS has more insight on this topic.

Re: Taylor Carnevale
I was under the belief that all educational packages were the same in the O. For every year you play, the team will pay for a year of tuition, books, whatnot for any Canadian college or university. Must differ in some way obviously.

Re: Taylor Carnevale
I'm afraid I know just as much as the rest of you, but it might be possible that top draft picks get a few more education perks than say a 4 or fifth round pick would get.
