Petes vs Gens

Whether this game means anything to the Petes or not we need to bring it and play as is it's game # 1 of the first round

If Brampton beats the Bulls at 2 pm then we have a chance to knock the Petes out of the playoffs with a loss

That would be great motivation for the GENS - I WOULD LOVE IT

The thing is if Bampton wins vs Bulls we play Brampton - 1st round

I'm hoping a playoff spot is still on the line for the Petes when we play them tonight. As the Gens prepare for a playoff run, given the rivalry, my first choice wouldn't be to play a Petes team who has nothing at stake.

In terms of the Petes or Bulls and the playoffs, it's hard to know what the lesser of 2 evils is. Gens Camper wants the Petes out of the playoffs, archer_gens wants the Bulls out...it's a natural instinct to dislike anything in maroon , yet the Bulls are easy to dislike too for beating us out 2 years in a row. Tough call.

The only way tomorrow's Gens/Petes game is meaningless for the Petes is if the Bulls get 2 points tomorrow afternoon in Brampton. If the Bulls earn a point, the Petes would need a win against us to force a deciding game. If the Bulls don't get any points, the Petes could grab the 8th spot with a win, or get a deciding game with 1 point against us.

As Gens Camper said, the Battalion need both points Sunday afternoon in order to play us in round 1.

Should make for an interesting afternoon of scoreboard watching!

After we've been finding it tough to score against the Battalion, the Bulls have 3 goals on 5 shots.

Go figure.

So far, nothing for Toffoli this afternoon on the Thomas goal scoring watch.

Thnx for Toffoli update, I been listening to the Bulls game online hoping the Bulls win. Yes the Bulls are really getting outshot but they are still up 3 1 with about 5 mins left in the 2nd.

Spoke too soon. Toffoli just got his 54th and 55th in the final 3 minutes of the 2nd.

Oh too bad on Toffoli, so the ball is in Thomas's court now, he can have a big game tonight for sure. 3 1 Bulls end of 2nd.

Thomas will need at least two goals tonight but 4 points is 100 if i heard correct

Toffoli with the natural hat trick...3 goals in less than 4 minutes. Right now, Thomas needs 2 to tie. Toffoli has now taken over the league scoring lead, jumping ahead of Strome and Akeson.

Edited to add: Toffoli with 4 today, brings him to 57...so for Thomas, it's hat trick to tie, 4 goal game to win it outright.

This is good news. I think that is our most favorable matchup.

So now with everything being settled, is there any chance of "resting" some of our high end players? Now that the game means nothing for Peterborough I imagine they will be in not so great a mood. I would hate to think something would happen, but still have an outside worry that this game gets extra chippy, or out of hand. Either way should be an interesting game to watch tonight.

Could the season end the way it started with the PETES !!
