New and experianced HEAD COACHES now avaliable???

The struggling Washington Capitals have fired Bruce Boudreau, replacing him with coach Dale Hunter from the OHL's London Knights.

The Carolina Hurricanes have fired head coach Paul Maurice and replaced him with former Montreal Canadiens assistant coach Kirk Muller.

Hey wonder is GENS brass is taking notice of this,they could be good in gens land,either one would be better then what we got.At least they have more experiance then agnew.

What do u guys think,too soon.

Thought Maurice would have been a great hire when he was previously unemployed and before he was hired in Carolina. Rumour previously was Agnew was (is) hired to be an assistant in St. Louis next year. If true, grab Maurice while he's available as I don't think he will be in the NHL for a while. Maybe the AHL?

Agnew is only a temp , he will be in St Louis next year

So there ya go,perfect chance to bring in someone who will be here next year instead of just a temp job.Plus i like Bruce Boudreau,hard nose,take no crap coach.He sat OVIE,He would sit anyone!!!.....dont perform then he will just sit ur a$$.This can be a question we ask tonight,if either of these 2 could be brought in.

I expect neither will have any interest in coaching in the O , Although they were fired ,they will still recieve compensation from their respective clubs . Taking a job in the O will nullify that arrangement .

That is why John Maclean is not coaching , he is making more money sitting at home . He is the happiest unemployed guy in the USA .

Both of these coaches will not go anywhere in the OHL - make more money at home collecting the rest of their contract

Suggested this previously; see post above. Wantin' it, not buyin' it for reasons suggested above and the fact Maurice would not be even thinking about a job within two days of his release. Wishful thinking by someone out there in cyberspace!

I agree with the above however, Bruce Budreau took all of 2 days lol. I really can't see Maurice coaching in junior.

There's a difference betwen jumping to an NHL job and the Gennies. Also, now available: Mike Foligno and Dave Farrish, just released by the Kings. They're dropping like flies! Still like Maurice!

Last Games for Jenner and Thomas this weekend as Generals is a definite possibility, they both head off to world junior camp and if they make the team and if we sell, thats it folks.

that's if they both make but i doubt either of them will make team canada.

Now that this past weekend has played out and the Gennies played so dominant against Sarnia and Peterborough, I think Agnew has the boys playing really good now, I know it's only 2 games but let's hope we have turned the corner and keep playing this way, we will have a great 2nd half of the season for sure.

Thomas has picked a great time to get hot with his 9pts in 2 games heading to the wjc camp, he may make the team also, but agree Jenner is the forerunner of the 2.

I wouldn't put a lot of faith in the win versus Sarnia as thet were missing two of their top defencemen and three of their top forwards that game. The win against the Petes, however, was very impressive! Looking good!
