OHL announces fighting rule changes

The new fight rule is now in effect.

You get ten fights.
Fights 11-15 are two game suspensions each.
If you make it to a 16th+ fight it's a two game suspension and a team fine.
It does not count as a fight against you if you are not the instigator

OHL also just tweeted the following:

"If player is deemed to be instigator in any of the fights above the 10 game threshold, such player will be assessed an automatic 4 game suspension"

Also, the playoff format is now 2-2-1-1-1 regardless of geography

I for one applaud David Branch for these changes

Loosepucks reportes that 92% of OHL players had less than 10 fights last season

This was passed by the league owners on Aug 17

so i guess they are calling the instigator more? from the way thats written it sounds to me that you get 10 instigators?

I can't remember a player having 10+ instigator penalties against them?

Am i misunderstanding?

Dunno if I like the 2-2-1-1-1 format only because it means back to back home games.

Reading TSN it says nothing about the fight not counting if your not the instigator.

NM I get it now. If the instigator is called against the other team then a fight doesn't count towards our players fight total. If not instigator is called both players get 1 in there fight column.
