Don't agree, Hayes is their Captain and Parnham hasn't been around ALL year. He has never played with them and they have never looked up to him on the ice. It is time for the "C" and "A's" and the Vets on this team to step up and GIVER. The young ones will follow. Lets hope they have it.

i didn't mean any disrespect to Hayes, I think he's a great captain, I should have said one of there leaders and not there leader.

Nov. 20 Petes for the fourth time Empty Petes game

Post by Gens Camper Thu Nov 19, 2009 1:23 pm

If we only win 1 game this week end - it must be the PETES

Just maybe the PETES will come in a little Cocky and over confident and we can rise to the occassion

I think the Petes top players might just be a little better at this point that's the scary part

Kassian - Spooner - Peumple -Lomas - Daley

We counter with

DeHann - Jenner - Thomas - Brown - Hayes

I hope Kassian (the goon) isn't playing. the first 2 shifts in
Peterbough he took a hit to the head penilty on Thomas and a cross checking penilty on i forget who. But there is no need for that type of play. Then the next game in Ottawa slew footing. what a goon.

this is the one game they need to have that super heavyweight. I say bring up Sandercock for one game. Other than that, all we can counter with is Terrerri.. hmmm, I miss Delory on games like this, although Kassian never tried that stuff when Delo was there.

Go Gens Go! We need a 60 minute game and solid powerplay and it would really be nice to see a stellar performance by either od oue goaltenders. I dont care which one.(it is overdue, don't ya think?)

This team can beat any team...and we have shown that we can play a solid defensive game. And we can play solid against any hockey team in this league. Let's stick to the game plan, stay out of the penalty box...we will come out with a victory.

A couple good fights, well this just icing on the cake for me.

Every streak has a start somewhere ....why not start tonight?

good effort by the Gens tonight, they outworked, outshot the Petes. Peterboroughs lethal powerplay killed us tonight, not to mention three stupid penalties by Berger, who out to be bag skated for those. We are now officially last in the league with Sudbury winning. I liked the way Browner started with a solid fight, and I really liked Boone Jenners game tonight. The future is solid with Jenner, Thomas as the future.

I once heard "insanity" described as doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result...........maybe it's time to ash-can the whole "let's jamb one in from the side of the net" approach to the power-play.

I liked the energy from our team tonight. I haven't seen that in a while. Too bad we didn't stay out of the penalty box.

I see what you're saying Gens Fan 112 but at the same time, when the Petes were allowing them to simply walk right in to the front of the net consistently like that, it's hard to resist the chance to walk right in over and over again although they did end up getting nabbed for goaltender interference a couple of times.

Like I have said before we cannot match the PETES top 5

When you take penalties - you pay

5 on 5 we are OK - NOT 4 ON 3

Too many of our shots are desperation and perimiter

All 3 of our goals were individual efforts

I disagree that the shots were mostly perimeter shots. They had several point blank chances where a forward was alone vs Missiaen as Gens Fan 112 said. It was the jam play that they tried over and over again with little success. I think they had the Petes under pressure for the majority of the game and were just unlucky. I think that's the best game they played all season despite the result and I would include the game they beat Kingston 7-2 at home in that because Kingston was flat and it didn't take much effort to beat them. This was the best game the Gens have played this season when you look at a solid 60-minute effort with a high energy level.

Great effort by the lads last night. Just couldn't put that final nail in the coffin. Good job Gens.

Missiaen was on a mission. Gensfan112 you are absolutely right. Over fifty shots. If you can't figure which ones are not going in.....................
Stupid penalty late in the third with the game all tied up.
