Re: Oshawa vs. Brampton, Mon. Feb 15th, 2010
The thing is that to determine the success of this team, you have to look at where they will be next year and two years from now. There really is no difference between nine games ago and right now because it really doesn't affect the long term plan at all what position they come in this year.
Two players doesn't make a difference from a team with lots of depth but when you only have two or three players that can generate offense and you take away two, you're left with ... not much.
People keep picking on the veterans for not producing offense but that's not the kind of players they are. Did anyone expect Hayes or Esposto to score 30-40 goals? Does anyone honestly expect that there's a coach out there that would have accomplished that?
As I said earlier, a .500 team with De Haan and Berger becomes a far less than .500 team without them.

It is amazing that a number of posters have changed over the last couple of months. Many posters on here were all for the status quo.....wow. LOL
Like Archer Gens said what status quo ? Status quo was a .500 team that worked hard for every point they got, not a team that loses eight in a row and stinks out the joint 90 perecent of the time... not acceptable, not in junior hockey, or your everyday job. Nobody on this board ever expected the downfall this team has shown the last three weeks, and as you can see no one is happy about the effort.

Sorry I wasn't clear, my bad!! When speaking of status quo, I was speaking of the hockey team and coaching staff.....many felt the coaching staff should be given another year (or more in some cases), before evaluating them. Some said that they would have replaced them before Christmas. Now it seems many of the posters that wanted status quo (same coaching staff for at least a year) now want changes. Very quick to change their minds!!
Cheers!!

The Petes are just as injury ridled - 3 top players out BUT
hammer us last time out - Injuries are part of the game - it
gives others a chance to show what they have or don't have
If we don't make the playoffs - don't be surprised if Rocco cleans house just like the other parts of the orginization
Missing the playoffs 2 yrs in a row is not good enough - last yr
we missed by 1 point in a loss in Brampton that we were leading by a goal with just over 1 minute to go - guess what we get a too many men penalty - Brampton tie the game then win it.
No playoffs the owners do not like to lose money$$$ - 2 yrs in a row - would you - I am sure Adam Graves knows some very talented hockey people to run this team RIGHT
