who will Gen's draft
Who do you think the Gen's will draft Saturday,I think the Gen's are going to surprise alot people on there first choice,Marcantuoni has been pened in by everyone, and there is some saying as of late it will be Mcvivor of Whitby. this is guess but for some reason I think they are going to draft Nick Ebert (D) he is dictating were he wants to go but since we have Pete(the cheater) Debor onboard this is not far fetched,
personally, I think we need a scoring forward but the Gen's may be thinking a stud D-man to replace DeHann.

Re: who will Gen's draft
I strongly believe we need goal scorers/ playmaking centres with some size, not that Marcantuoni brings size. Our first two picks must be forwards. It's pretty well been confirmed McIvor will be going to the Bulls BUT, if the rumour being circulated in Kitchener has any merit, Ebert could be brought in to "replace DeHaan". I hear Ebert is the best defenceman available, by far, and is better than Moore or Carlson. We'll see tomorrow! Enjoy the rumours!

Draft pick
It will be the player that will report - that is our pick at 3 -
Ebert is the top D out there and if the Bulls pass - and pick McIVOR - it's because he will report
If we bypass him it's because he won't report

Re: who will Gen's draft
Look what I found my prediction might come true. ( Peter the cheater )
The Oshawa Generals, emboldened by having former Rangers GM and Florida Panthers coach Peter DeBoer as part of their ownership group, might use their third overall pick on Ebert.
Rumour had DeBoer visiting the family several times. Ebert said he didn’t know who DeBoer was.
If the Generals do take Ebert, it may allow Oshawa to deal 19-year-old world junior blueliner Calvin de Haan.

Re: who will Gen's draft
Well this is a shock Gen's draft Scott Laughton LC if they wanted a centre I wonder why they didn't go for Matia Marcantuoni(maybe they couldn't fit his name on the back of jersey ) maybe he didn't want to play here or maybe Peter the cheater made a deal so the Gen's get him in the 2nd rd or Mcivor
Cross out Mcivor Brampton took him
and still Matia Marcantuoni is avaiable

Re: who will Gen's draft
Marcus McIvor was selected 9th by Brampton.
Some thought he would have went much earlier.

What was the reason for Niagara getting the compensatory pick at #8?

Re: who will Gen's draft
That pick is part of the new rule, as part of compensation when they traded lessio to the gens.

Re: who will Gen's draft
Actually, he is listed as playing 33 games, 23 goals and 14 assists with lots of penalty time. A bruiser third line centre?

Re: who will Gen's draft
the gens should have picked marcantuoni , then when if he didnt sign we would have 2 first round picks next year, like niagara just got , somebody has got to stop this nonsense ! kitchener almost made it to the ohl final this year with skinner , now they get arguably the best player in the draft again ! it just isnt fair while teams like the gens and the sting take years to rebuild kitchener goes from finishing below us in 2009 to being mem cup contenders in 2011........If i were an owner i would get a good lawyer and take it to branch ," something really smells of collusion here !

We can't afford to do that last season we took Biggs didn't report, and we traded for Lessio not reporting so far, WE HAVE TO TAKE PLAYER THAT WILL REPORT

Re: who will Gen's draft
if you pass on a future star then you just feed the disease , and the teams like the gens /petes /wolves / greyhounds etc settle for mediocrity while the windsors , kitcheners and london , just stay at the top year after year ........its not good !.......one day some team is going to try it and really throw a wrench into branches little game !

Re: who will Gen's draft
Earlier rumours here and on the HFBoard suggested Marcantruoni was a done deal to come here, that it was one of three he would report to. Also said his dad's business was here and both sides had a "handshake agreement" Some threads have said he is a"soft player". Also, the Gens seem to be looking for character players like Jenner (captain of his mm. team, I believe) and Laughton, captain of the Marlies mm. Maybe Matia was lacking somewhere?

While it does often suck to be a fan of the teams you mention, it is important to realize that for these players, there is potentially millions of dollars at stake. If you think of it from a player or parents' perspective, there is very little that would lead one to believe that the players shouldn't get the choice of where they play.
These 15 year olds have often spent the last 10 years playing hockey 5-6 times a week, staying in on friday and saturday nights for team imposed curfews. Parents have invested hundreds of hours and likely a year or two's worth of their salaries, all so that their child can realize his or her dream.
Perhaps if the gens had built a strong hockey program (like London/Kitchener/Windsor have done) instead of building a coaching carousel, then maybe we could remove them from the list above. Remember that until recently, Windsor and London were perennial bottom-feeders as well.
