Guelph Storm @ Oshawa Jan. 6, 2011
This should be an interesting game tonight.
We beat the Storm in Guelph earlier this season.
Since then they have had coaching changes as well as some player changes.
The Storm have beat both Mississauga and Plymouth in their last two games.
Maggio is suppose to be in the line up tonight.
Lucas Lessio will probably not be as his Nonno passed away.
Scott Laughton returns from the under 17 tournament with a gold metal and Calvin deHaan return from the World Juniors with his silver metal. Both of these guys should be proud of their accomplishments. I am sure they will receive a very warm reception from all of the Generals fans.
Lets put an end to the Storms winning streak.
Go Gens Go.

Hoping Laughton will play tonight, I doubt we'll see deHaan play til the weekend. Thats to bad for Lessio, makes the game seem alot less important and reminds us all about how precious life is in general.

I take it back the email from the team says Calvin returns to the lineup, so maybe there is a chance he plays tonight.

This is the first of the three remaining games before the trade deadline. I am not expecting alot of moves, but I hope it motivates the boys to work hard.

Watching the Game on TV...heard that Calvin couldn't make his interview because of the flu......Wonder if it's the same strain Zador had. lol

well i caught an interview on cbc before the gold medal game and calvins father was doing an interview and stated calvin is under the weather but that it wouldnt stop him from playing in the gold game..so with that said i think he is indeed sick with a real flu lol unlike zador im sure he will be back in the lineup next game

We certainly did not play our style of game last night.
We played Guelph's boring style.
Another dismal effort by the guys last night.
Our defence was brutal...would have benched them but I guess you can't bench them all. Maggio didn't play a bad game for his first game as a General.
Again stupid penalties cost us the game. When will these boys learn.
If we would have got these two points as well at the previous ones against Barrie, Belleville and Brampton we would be ahead of Ottawa in the standings.
Hopefully they come out with a better effort against Barrie Saturday night.

What's up with Jensen recently? Seems to always be running people... a lot! Last night, a boarding and two checking from behind penalties! It's like he's trying to prove he's a "tough guy"! Stick to playing the scoring game, Nicklas! These cheap penalties are hurting the team. I would have benched him after the third!

Don't want to set the 'cat among the pidgeons' however I did enjoy the way that Joe Cirella coached the team (against two of the top teams in the league) when DePiero was suspended.
He definately did a few things 'his own way' and I liked the way things turned out.
Perhaps one day we see Cirella has Head Coach and DePiero as GM - a discussion point at leeast.

As for Jensen on the second call the guy turned to avoid the hit wasn't his fault at all and the thrid was right after he got elbowed in the mouth by the same player...

On the back of the officiating, I am sometimes surprised not to look to the bench and see this!
