looking for feedback on song when the Gens take the ice

This weekend I tried a new dramatic sort of intro song which is from the Tron Legacy soundtrack. It's not loud and aggressive, it's slow and well, dramatic. It sounded great with nobody in the building but when it's full (particularly 5800 full), I can't hear what it sounds like from where I am, there is no speaker. (Yes, that could be one reason why it's too loud sometimes but the design of the sound system is a topic for another day. Rolling Eyes

)

Don't remember the song but it has me anticipating what comes next. Would also like to ask if you could play more rock music, I can't handle the other stuff, miss the music of three years ago, thanks

I can try and get a little bit more in but I'm under strict orders to play mostly upbeat pop/dance/top 40. I'll do as much as I can get away with.

There are two songs that you play that I heard over and over when I was in Cuba last month. I love it because it reminds me of my vacation.

Follow the Leader? might have been one and the other was mostly an instrumental.

Can you tell me the name and artist of those songs?

i think the songs played at the games is fantastic ive been to games all over the place and by far oshawa plays the best music im not from oshawa just so it doesnt sound biased lol im from just outside of ottawa

Im not saying that you should do this but its just an idea but i thought its a great one.We all see our goalie Disalvo do that water thing he does just as his name is announced right.Im not sure if where he got that was from HHH the WWE wrestler cause everytime hes introduced or comes to the ring he does the same thing.That same wrestler has a wicked upbeat kick butt awesome rock song called "TIME TO PLAY THE GAME" By motorhead.Its an amazing entrance song.Now im not saying hes a wrestling fan or if thats where he got it but if ur looking for a entrance song that would be my pick first off.Its not a vulgar song with language or anything but its a great song to get the boys really pumped and ready,im suprised not more are used but i guess not many are as good as this one.Thanks thats just my 2 cents.And yes i think the volume at times is way too loud.

Honestly beats I really didn't notice the change in song on Sunday. I did re-listen to the tune before typing this but it really doesn't 'pump me up' as a fan. I've always thought that it would be awesome if Hells Bells was played prior to the team coming out to start a game. With the ringing of the bells 30 seconds or so before the team hits the ice. Lights out and spotlights around the arena, that would be incredible. Just my opinion obviously. I know your job's tough enough as it is trying to please everyone but you've been doing a good job.
One more thing, I couldn't hear the goal horn on Sunday for some reason, I hope they haven't scrapped it.

gensfanforever - HHH theme was actually the song the Gens came out to in the playoffs a couple of years ago ... maybe

KHE - Hells Bells is a great song choice but unfortunately spotlights aren't possible, the lights on the stairs is the best we could do ... darkness is tricky in general because the lights in the arena don't turn on instantly ... believe it or not, with all the bells and whistles in the GMC, it doesn't have lights that turn on instantly, they take a few minutes to turn on like the old rinks ... that's why they aren't turned off when the players come out but several minutes earlier and then start fading in so they are "on" more or less as the national anthem starts - goal horn is still there, not sure if it was just not as loud but it was there

It will be Saturday Night's Alright for fighting on the Saturday night game, something else for the Sunday game and then the playoffs are still up in the air, feel free to continue sending suggestions and thanks for the feedback.

I'd be careful with this song, I would fear no one hearing the intro music. Fans could be cheering loudly as the team comes out for there first playoff matchup, and in general soft music is hard to hear on the arena sound system.

If the music was loud enough though it could be interesting.

Beats, usually it's played in the 1st period but you have been mixing it up a bit. "bop bop bada" something like that!

I like KHE's suggestion about Hells Bells, that would be awesome. I was not too fond of the Tron track and I would vote to bail on that choice IMO. Enter Sandman from Metallica is my choice. Man I can't wait for the playoffs to start Very Happy

There are some good choices there for sure, out of that list I would go for Offspring Come Out And Play, Lol ref's gotta keep'em seperated

Definately dance/techno with a carribean feel to it. They played the damn thing at the resort everyday in Cuba! cyclops

I really liked a couple seasons ago when you played Heart of a Champion when the team was coming out for the first. Wasn't very applicable at the time, as we were seeing our chances of making the playoffs fading away, but it would be very fitting this year!

It isn't to "not" play rock music, just to shift the balance more toward pop, dance & top 40. There's definitely still some rock music, just less of it. Despite those instructions, I've still managed at least one or two songs by Metallica and AC/DC every game as well as a mix of some more modern stuff like Franz Ferdinand, Green Day, Rise Against, etc. In the playoffs, you will also hear more rock simply because I'll have more stoppages to work with, there are usually less announcements/promotions in the playoffs. You'd be surprised how few songs I actually play in an average period.

I think it's the best intro song there is. I loved when the Oilers used it a few years back. Keep up the good work!!!
