I would have loved to go…but work comes first! Can someone who is going tonight please let us know what happens? I like to know if they will answer all questions or beat around the bush?

I'm expecting a high level of BS coming from them. I hope it's a big turn out of ticket holders to make this look respectable

I agree…I’m curious why they changed it from after a game and giving a fair amount of notice to this. Was last year town hall meetings season ticket holders only? As a season ticket holder I hope there is a good turn out, only wish i could be there to give my 2 cents!

Almost seems like having it on a random day, as opposed to after a game is to lessen the blow from having a large grouop of disgruntled season ticket holders present. They are probably hoping for a small turnout.

After a game the fans on the opposite side of the restaurant never had a chance to get there through the crowd leaving and by the time they get there the place is full. This way all season tickets can be there if they want to via RSVP and don't forget your ID card to verify your a season ticket holder.

Sure deals will be made.... And why bring in a coach who may (WILL) be gone after this year? Sounds Mickey Mouse to me!!

I have no idea and don't pretend to, however....people should think about things before they post. Maybe Dips with his personal battles going on at home couldn't handle both GM and coach with the Gens and Gary was brought in to help out. Gary was obviously willing to do the job without a long term contract and besides, who else was available. I am sure the Gens organization has a plan and will stick to their plan. Change can be a good thing and a bad thing, there are reasons behind every change. Unless you have facts to back it up, i'm not sure Mickey Mouse enters the equation.

Post by KHE Tue Nov 29, 2011 4:17 pm

I was quite pleased to see a good number of season ticket holders actually showed up. I was disappointed by some of the lackluster questions that were asked by some people, especially regarding Dave Branch but on the flip side there were a lot of great questions asked. I was attending the meeting to get some information regarding the hockey club and where its heading, not to bash or vent about the rulings of Dave Branch. That topic is irrelevant. I was happy to hear that progress is being made with regards to the Gens being back on the radio next year. It sounds as though it's probably a done deal. That will only help this organization with the walk up crowd. I spoke with Rocco after the meeting asking him about the scoreboard and whether it's going to be replaced. He advised that they are currently going through arbitration with the City in regards to that. He did acknowledge that if the club is going to host a Memorial Cup (which he also confirmed to me that they will be bidding on in 2013) that the scoreboard/video screen will have to be replaced. Coach Agnew agreed with a fan that there are some players playing as individuals out there and that does concern him. He's focused on getting the players to play a system and work hard every shift. Players that don't work the way they should will be traded. He ackowledged that at the start of his tenure he was able to get them to play 20 minutes of quality hockey (game @PET) and then that turned into 60 min. He's focusing now on trying to get that into weekends and weeks. The GM ackowledged that help is need on the defensive side and that there are a lot of talk going on currently and they will make the moves to improve the club but they don't want to jeopardize the future.
Rocco acknowledged that they are extremely upset with the City that they have decided to charge $5 to park at downtown lots. Apparently Tito Dante is the only councillor that has been very helpful to the Gens in trying to rectify that.

That sentiment can only be used for so long can't it? At some point, don't you have to take a risk to take a shot at winning now? If we can't turn the Tavares/Del Zotto blockbuster into a winning team, then it was a wasted opportunity.

One of the comments that concerned me most was when Agnew said the chemistry was good between the team, but then turned around and said that they all don't have to like each other in the dressing room, but they do have to play as a team. I have to say that if they don't all like each other, how can they play as a team...how can chemistry be that great. I remember past teams--particularly the one back in 1996-1997-- they were always together! If you were at the mall and you saw one, you knew 95% of the team wasn't far behind them.

Im just very confused on why he would think that a bunch of kids who might not all like each other would be able to play well together.

Town hall meeting Empty talk about Branch is irrelevant?

Post by overbank99 Tue Nov 29, 2011 6:13 pm

i was the person who originally asked Rocco Tullio about Branch.
i was disappointed in his politcally correct response but hey he's
the owner so its his perogative, whereas it is mine to not renew my
season ticket next year.
i am particularily offended by KHE's dismisal of these questions
as irrelevant. KHE who are you to decide whether one's questions
are relevant or not. it seems a large percentage(maybe even a
majority) of Gens fans feel the same way i do.
i believe the inconsistences of Branch's suspension give huge
credence to my concerns and opinions and many of my fellow
Gens fans.
its also interesting that Branch's son is a assistant GM and
coach in this league. conflict of interest?
Anyways i won't miss the farce of Branch after this season
i can spend my money on other things and not put a penny
of my money in Branch's pocket.

regards

Thanks to KHE for the detailed report. For those of us not able to attend it was helpful.

I wonder what answer Tullio could give to the Branch question that would
a) not get him fined or worse
b) not make life potentially even more difficult for Generals
c) have answered the question in a manner satisfactory to the poster who asked it.

As the head of an organization Tullio cannot antagonize the Commissioner whatever his privately held views are. None of us can know what views Tullio really holds on that issue.
