Erie Otters @ Niagara IceDogs.-When the unthinkable happens!
When the unthinkable happens??
At the 1:45 minute of the first period Erie's goalie Ramis Sadikov gets hurt and has to leave the game.
With no backup goalie on hand, Otters are forced to put someone in net.
The put in a centerman by the name of Connor Crisp who is 17 years old.
He did stop 32 of 45 shots he faced.
Niagara therefor won the game 13-4.
Chris Connor was given the first star of the game and all of the Niagara players went down to shake his hand and congratulate him.
Way to go Connor Crisp!!!!

The League needs to review its rules so that it is Easier for a team to find a goalie if theres go down. Also there is talk of making teams forfit or play the entire game with 6 skaters, apparently major issues with insurance and legalities of forcing a player to play goalie who doesn't know how to do so.
My suggestion to cut down on this happening would be that a team must have two goalies dressed to start the game. If they do not and the only goalie gets injured then they must forfeit the game. If a team has two goalies dressed they should be able to dress another skater, why because they have done everything they could to prevent the situation.
The issue with forfeits is pretty huge, for example if the visiting team forfeits and the game doesn't happen, fans of the home team will want a refund. Crazy either way, and im sure rule changes are coming.
