Tyler Biggs
Interesting article on sportsnet about the Leafs having the 5th overall pick in this years draft.
The article talks about last years draft and how we while Biggs and Percy won't make the NHL next year, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Biggs drop out and play Junior next year.
It would be nice for him to play for us, and nice to get something in return trading him to a contender.

Trade him to a contender? Won't the Gens contend? I think so.

Re: Tyler Biggs
Looks like it is offical As per @TSNBobMckenzie, Tyler Biggs could be leaving Miami. The Oshawa Generals own his rights, and seem like a perfect fit

Re: Tyler Biggs
we're contenders suddenly?
Do we have some really amazing top prospects im unaware of?
I'd love to contend
Sounds to me however that it's rebuild time

It's all up to this new GM, I guess. They definately need to rebuild their D and get bigger and stronger. Too many Overagers available and the talent discrepency between a few top end players and the rest is too big in my opinion.
Care to give me your opinion on a few guys that should be in the lineup every day next season and their role moving forward?

Re: Tyler Biggs
Your top forwards could look like this;
Jenner
Jensen
Lessio
Biggs
Laughton
Uvira
Cassels
Dal Colle
D to name a few could look like
Brown
Carlisle
Petgrave
Sullentrop
Schemitsch
This team MAY not be in as bad a shape as some people seem to think.

Tyler Biggs has just signed with the leafs so he either plays in the NHL or for the Gen's or get's traded to another OHL team.

My guess is he'll line up in Oshawa and have a pretty good year. I've seen him play. He's good, not incredible.

And why not? Jerry D'Amigo of the Kitchener Rangers last season 2010-11 was in the AHL Marlies for most of the season and then was placed back to his OHL club.

Isn't D'Amigo a '91? He could play AHL in his overager year. Biggs will not be an overager next season.

Jerry D'Amigo wasn't an OA in season 2010-11 if he played this past season 2011-12 he would of been an OA for Kitchener but the Marlies didn't sed him back.

Re: Tyler Biggs
If Biggs went right to the OHL last season he wouldnt be eligible to play for the Marlies this season, but he went to University instead which means he is allowed to play in the AHL as a 93 next season.

If you're right then Brian Burke will probably want him suiting up for the Marlies and not the Generals.

Great news if it happens. A father-son combination for the Gens. I think the Vipond's are the only other one that I can remember. Not sure if there are others as HockeyDB doesn't show all the old guys unless you really look. I know Billy Taylor's grandson Dylan played a few games for the Gens.

Re: Tyler Biggs
It would be nice to finally have Tyler here but don't expect a 30 goal scorer; probably 20 and 40-50 points max! He might be a good one to put in front of the net on the pp. Hope he ends up here; really don't think he's AHL ready. He's no Chris Kreider!

Re: Tyler Biggs
This was in the Toronto Sun paper today, so it looks good so far that he will be in a Gen's uniform this season
Tyler Biggs (22nd overall) could ultimately become the big, bruising forward Burke (and most forward thinking GMs) covet. Last season was a mixed bag for Biggs, where as a freshman at Miami (Ohio) University he had nine goals and eight assists in 37 games. But to help his professional development, Biggs left college after one year and is likely to be with the Ontario Hockey League’s Oshawa Generals next season.
