Brown suspension??

Anyone hear anything about supplemental discipline for Brown. If it's anything less than 5 games I'll be shocked. Thankfully the Soo player wasn't hurt on the play which should help when determining the number of games he'll get.

I think it is a minimum 2 games - if he has no prior discipline and with no injury I would be shocked if it's more - But who knows

Rule 43 – Checking from Behind
43.4 Major Penalty – Any player charges from behind an opponent who is
unable to protect or defend himself, shall be assessed a major
penalty. This penalty applies anywhere on the playing surface (see
43.5). A major penalty shall be assessed regardless of whether injury
occurs if a player is knocked violently from behind into the boards or
goal frame.

43.5 Game Misconduct – A game misconduct penalty must be assessed
anytime a major penalty is applied for checking from behind

This was the penalty that was called on the play in question. I believe that there won’t be any other discipline applied but I could be wrong and that would totally be based on the ref’s after game report on how he saw the actually play.

I agree with gensrock, there should not be any supplemental discipline. In my opinion this was a proper rule book penalty where a 5 minute major and a game penalty was assessed and a serious injury did not result.

Josh Brown gets 2 games as per the OHL site!

Brown did not play last night anyone know why. Roger Lavoie mentioned during the Miss Game Friday that it was a 3 game suspension, just wondering why the OHL site showed 2 games and back on Oct 27

I heard from one of the players that it was a three game suspension as well.
Probably a mistake on the OHL site.
