Ritchie disappoints
I know this may get some heat from fans...but I have to say I am a fan of hockey.
I recognize that Ritchie is a key player for the Petes. I hate seeing a player on the ice trying to injure players. Last night's hit on Will was blatant, and hopefully will be reviewed.(should have been a major penalty)
Ritchie has the ability to dominate a game. When I go to a game I want to see the best players , playing at their best. When talented players, run around trying to take someone's head off (literally) I am so disappointed. What a waste! He should be ashamed and so should his fans! When he plays hockey, he is effective. When he plays like a goon, it is shameful.
As a gens fan...keep it up Ritchie...you will find yourself in the box...watching the goals go in!
Congrats to the Gens for not reacting....and not position themselves for any suspensions. It must have been hard.

Re: Ritchie disappoints
This is why there is no longer any discussion on this forum. people just say who cares or why the hell would you post that. I get exactly what is being stated. I want to see great hockey. Of course I want the gens to win every night. But if the hockey is bad it's hard to watch. I don't think I could be a season ticket holder under north bays coaching staff for example. I find there play so boring I want to sleep lol. If the gens won by a large margin every night because every other teams players always sucked it would also get boring, IMO. As a fan it's eSy to say sweet Ritchie sucked last night, good news for the gens. But long term, the teams stability is built on greAt hockey being played every night by not just one team in the building. Fight night in peterborough and game 7 Kingston vs Pete's were two of the most exciting games all year that I watched. The OT element added excitement into our first round matchup but if we had swept all 4 in relegation it could have been quite dull.
I agree steamed gens fans shouldn't be cheering for the other team! and they should want what's best for the generals. I'm just saying if the game was dull all the time no one would watch.

Re: Ritchie disappoints
I have thought the same thing on Ritchie for 2 years and especially this year. I was thinking the same thing last night, the guy is so good but cant help but get himself into trouble. Im also a hockey fan and the third period performance by the Petes disgusted me. They got frustrated by Oshawa dominating the puck possession all game and resulted to dirty tactics which I hate to see.
I was happy the Gens kept their cool and did not retaliate, we don't need injuries or suspensions just to respond to the Petes dirty play. Especially in the third, DJ put really all the "toughest" guys we got out in the last minute but they were not out there to play dirty or retailate, they were out there to make sure the Petes didn't take any liberties. Which they didn't because of this factor.
Even though Smith thru a huge check and a great fight at the end, I was impressed with his composure in the third. As well as Dundas. Although the check was clean I wasn't a big fan of it, it could've started a line brawl resulting in suspensions. But damn it was a beauty check.

Re: Ritchie disappoints
I don't believe there will be a Suspension
Was it a dangerous hit? Yes
Was there intent to injure? I believe so
But from what I saw & I had a pretty good view of it, it look like Will hit is chin on the ice after the hit. IMO
Ritchie was trying to do what Laughton was doing last year Against Barrie.

Re: Ritchie disappoints
I agree with Archer, there is no discussion on here because of responses like steamed. We are all Generals, thus why we contribute to this form. But I completely understand what Hayes was saying.
I'm a Generals fan through and through, and want the Generals to win every game, But when I go to OHL games I also wanna see players like Ritchie, Cornel, Garlent and other top guys play hockey. There is a reason why they are top prospects. I wanna see good hockey. Seeing a guy running around trying to injure a guy is pathetic. I actually love Ritchies game when he plays hockey and plays physical but with respect. The Petes should be ashamed of the way the played last night.

Ps Steamed wasn't trying to troll or attack you. You contribute a great deal to the forum. Just saying I post a lot less then I did because the conversations seem to all fizzle out.
