Apparently in return were getting a conditional 2nd and 4th in 2016

Very surprised as well. Thought they would keep him for his leadership.

Maybe that 15th turns into the 2nd and 4th rnd picks when he plays his first game for them??? I agree that cant be it. If the Gens are rebuilding, you dont trade away guys for late picks like that. Petschenig is no allstar, but surely an OA vet d man can fetch more then that..

WELL WELL , I guess we can see the direction the team is going in , going to start over right away build through the draft , see how long it takes to get back to the memorial cup

I for one am ok with that , we obviously are trading away the vets as soon as we can , going to play with a very young team next year , become a bottom feeder , thats how you build quickly , 2 or 3 years picking up high draft picks

Hopefully we got more than a 15 th round pick for him , 2nd rounder makes sense hopefully Tuckerfan is right !

oh well guys we have to remember how great it was to be number one all year and win it all , best year for me since 1981 .

i'm not one who wants to be stuck in the middle of the pack like we have in the past , just to get a round of the playoffs .

lets build a winner again , it will take a few years , thats ok !

On the HF site that the Gens will get the 2nd and 4th referred to above if and when he plays for Saginaw. Apparently Hunt told McNair.

In all likelihood it a 15 if Petschenig doesn't report, a 2nd and 4th if he does, and he should report.

Definitely a surprise to me as well. But the projected back end even without Will is deeper then the expected forward core, so it make's some sense. You have to assume this means one of the big fish forwards are expected back. An despite my personal views on Mistele, I get the gut feeling he'll be back.

Also just wanted to apologize to whoever posted the original talk of Petschenig to Saginaw because they where spot on and deserve credit. If the rest of their post is accurate we can expect Latour to Windsor soon.

If so, we have a change in the power of the "insider" force.

A 2nd and a 4th is a pretty fair return for an over-ager. A good start to filling the holes in the future drafts during the creation of this year's team! Best wishes to Will!
