Gens Trade?

Could Grubauer could be a General soon?

LOS ANGELES -- German goaltender Philipp Grubauer could be spending his last few days as a member of the Windsor Spitfires.

According to a league source, a deal with the Oshawa Generals is in the works and could be done as soon as Monday - a day prior to Tuesday's Canadian Hockey League Import Draft - so that the Spitfires would be able to open up an import spot and take another European.




If Berger is returning this is a great move for the team in my opinion.
Hoping theres something to this rumor, guess we'll find out before the draft.

Depends what has to be given to Windsor. If it's our 8th in the import draft, fine, if more, only last year players! I don't know why the Gens want him. He's good but probably gone after this year.. not part of a re-building program!

Well Windsor can't use him, so his value is pretty much nothing to Windsor, and by trading them they need a high import pick back. Not many teams can offer that. From there maybe Zador or Bailie going that way as well.

Ur right it depends what we send back that way, but we have several spare parts, and windsor wants to be competitive this year as far as i know.

That's fine. I'm happy we didn't give that much up for a goalie who would probably only be here for one year.

From a Gen's stand point I think that it was to much to give up for an OA & a Euro player spot.Gen's management do see they need a goaltender but for now I would go with Bailie & Zador but keep a very close eye on them
I think Kingston is in a better position to make this trade than the Gen's are.

He is gone after this year as he is an OA I'm sure he is..

We do but not at the price they were asking. Another message board suggested Windsor might have wanted our import pick plus rights to Biggs or Lessio or both! More than a little much!

Actually, Philipp Grubauer is a 1991 so he is not an overage this year.

Wonder if Gens plan on taking a good look at the goalie drafted from the London Area. Went a little later in draft, but not because of talent or ability to stop pucks, but because of size.... Will he get a chance or not? Fury had problems between the pipes last year as well,,,,,Could that be an option?

Why?we have two already that don't have talent or able to stop pucks

Goaltending will improve as the team does - relax

I think Baille will be very strong this year as he matures

I am sure some of the best tenders in the O H L would not have fared much better in front of our young inexperienced team
